Eagles Host Giants in Saturday Night NFC Divisional Playoff

Giants vs. Eagles CashBet Wagering Analysis

The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles will renew their bitter NFC East rivalry on Saturday night.  The Giants are a great betting on NFL story under rookie head coach Brian Daboll.  Daboll has transformed the franchise and the career of quarterback Daniel Jones.  Meanwhile, the big question in Philadelphia is if Eagle QB Jalen Hurts is truly at 100%.  Philadelphia was the best team in the NFC all season.  However, they seemed to be running on fumes down the stretch.  New York is playing with polish and confidence heading into the divisional round.

Giants vs. Eagles CashBet Wagering Analysis

At the onset, gamblers are betting the Eagles up to a large online sportsbook favorite.  Philadelphia converted the public sector into enthusiasts with its strong regular season performance.  However, Wise Guys are taking a hard look at the Giants.  New York impressed gamblers with a strong finish.  And then its win at Minnesota convinced sharps that the Giants would offer value.  In a rivalry matchup such as this, the underdog often provides superior value.  Of great concern was Philadelphia’s inability to get the cash in the season’s final weeks.

New York Makes Giant Leap Forward

Last game, the New York Giants won 31-24 against the Minnesota Vikings as 2.5-point road dogs.  The game went over the Betting on football total of 47.5.  New York has a record of 9-7-1 straight up, 13-4 against the spread, and 6-9 over/under the total.  New York ranks 18th for total offense, 26th for passing, 4th for rushing, and 16th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 25th overall, 14th against the pass, 27th against the rush, and 18th for points allowed.  Also, New York ranks 2nd for fewest turnovers lost and 27th for takeaways.

At the beginning, head coach Brian Daboll had his upstart team prepared.  Daniel Jones played at a level well beyond his experience.  The Giants were fearless as they entered Minnesota and beat the Vikings at their own game.  Jones passed for 301 yards and two touchdowns.  Also, he ran for 78 yards in his first career playoff game for the Giants in a wild card round victory.  It was the Vikings’ first loss in 12 one-score games this season.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley rushed for two scores.  Including the tiebreaker midway through the fourth quarter.  Jones became the first quarterback in NFL history to hit 300-plus yards passing, two-plus passing touchdowns, and 70-plus yards rushing in a game.

New York’s defense finished the franchise’s first playoff win since the Super Bowl 11 years ago.  Specifically, the Giants clinched the game by swarming tight end TJ Hockenson at midfield after a 3-yard reception from Kirk Cousins on fourth-and-8.  The play forced a turnover on downs with 1:44 to go and no timeouts left for the Vikings.

Overall, the Giants converted seven of 13 third downs.  New York had their way with a Vikings defense that has been vulnerable all season.  To show, the Giants averaged yards per play in the first half.

Can Eagles Fly When it Matters Most?

Philadelphia is the top NFC seed for the playoffs.  Thus, they are coming off a bye week in the wild card round.

Last game, Philadelphia beat the New York Giants 22-16 as 17-point home favorites.  The game went under the NFL bets total of 43.5.  New York has a record of 14-3 straight up, 8-9 against the spread, and 10-7 over/under the total.  Philadelphia ranks 3rd for total offense, 9th for passing, 5th for rushing, and 3rd for scoring.  Defensively they rank 2nd overall, 1st against the pass, 16th against the rush, and 8th for points allowed.  Also, Philadelphia ranks 5th for fewest turnovers lost and 3rd for takeaways.
