Auburn vs. Ole Miss CashBet Wagering Analysis

As the song goes, “Opposites Attract.”  Lane Kiffin comes off as mellow and sleepy.  He loves to break balls and can make fun of himself.  Most important of all, Kiffin is a brilliant offensive mind.  Alabama coach Nick Saban is tight as a drum.  And the Nicktator made his NCAAF bets bones on the defensive side of the line.  Despite such differences, Kiffin is favored to replace Saban whenever retirement time comes.  These days Baby Kiff is leading Ole Miss to one of its greatest seasons.  This week the Rebels will welcome Auburn to The Grove.

Auburn vs. Ole Miss CashBet Wagering Analysis

Certainly, Auburn is one of the SEC’s least appealing teams on the best sportsbook online board.  Especially in a conference road game.  The Tigers’ offense can’t compare to the Ole Miss unit.  But the Rebels’ defense is showing marked improvement to make them a complete team.  Casual bettors prefer the Rebels as home chalk in this spot.  By contrast, Wise Guys are hesitant to step into Ole Miss with such a weak Auburn team.  The famed tailgating scene of Oxford is likely to be the day’s highlight.

War Eagle Surrendering Season

Last game, the Auburn Tigers lost 42-10 against the Georgia Bulldogs as 27.5-point road dogs.  The game went over the Betting on College Football total of 49.5.  Auburn has a record of 3-3 straight up, 1-5 against the spread, and 3-3 over/under the total.  Auburn ranks 94th for total offense, 97th for passing, 76th for rushing, and 113th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 56th overall, 34th against the pass, 94th against the rush, and 60th for points allowed.  Also, Auburn ranks 104th for fewest turnovers lost and 127th for takeaways.

Daijun Edwards scored three times on the ground.  While Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett sprinted 64 yards for a touchdown.  Bennett’s career-long run on the first play of the fourth quarter was the biggest of the day for UGA.  In turn, the Bulldogs’ offense mostly plodded along for the first three.

The Bulldogs got two short touchdown runs by Edwards and one from Kenny McIntosh.  Subsequently, Georgia took a 21-3 in the third quarter.  And then Bennett found a huge hole on a quarterback draw and beat a chasing pack of Tigers to the goal line.

Meanwhile, Auburn’s defense seemed to wear down and gave up 292 yards and six touchdowns rushing.  The Bulldogs put up 357 yards in the second half on 42 plays.

Ole Miss Makes Rebel Run for SEC

Last Saturday, the Ole Miss Rebels won 52-28 against the Vanderbilt Commodores as 17-point road favorites.  The game went over the bet on NCAAF total of 60.  Ole Miss has a record of 6-0 straight up, 3-3 against the spread, and 2-4 over/under the total.  Ole Miss ranks 15th for total offense, 66th for passing, 7th for rushing, and 17th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 32nd overall, 55th against the pass, 40th against the rush, and 11th for points allowed.  Also, Ole Miss ranks 64th for fewest turnovers lost and 93rd for takeaways.

Jaxson Dart threw for a career-high 448 yards and three touchdowns.  And then Ole Miss overcame a 10-point deficit in routing Vanderbilt on Saturday for its first 6-0 start since 2014.  Jonathan Mingo caught nine passes for the Ole Miss record and a national season-high 247 yards and two TDs.  Correlate the second TD was a short pass he caught at the line of scrimmage and took 71 yards to the end zone.  Finally, the Rebels padded the lead with a 1-yard TD run by Matt Jones with 18 seconds left for the final margin.
