Cardinals Host Saints on Thursday Night Football Betting Week 7

Arizona Cardinals vs. New Orleans Saints

Namely, Dennis Allen was an understandable betting on NFL hire to replace Sean Payton as Saints coach.  But it was a risky hire for both the Saints and Allen.  In his only previous head coaching position, Allen flopped with the Raiders.  Further, Allen replaced Sean Payton, the most successful coach in Saints history.  And Allen does not have Drew Brees as his QB.  This week the Saints hit the road to face the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night.  Arizona is facing a season on the brink.

Saints vs. Cardinals CashBet Wagering Analysis

Overall, gamblers see this Bitcoin Sportsbook matchup as even with neither side being that appealing.  The Saints and Cardinals have been too inconsistent to earn the trust of gamblers.  Sharps will lean toward the underdog.  And squares will take refuge with the favorite.

The Saints Go Limping In

Last game, the New Orleans Saints lost 30-26 against the Cincinnati Bengals as 3-point home dogs.  The game went over the Betting on football total of 42.5.  New Orleans has a record of 2-4 straight up, 2-4 against the spread, and 4-2 over/under the total.  New Orleans ranks 6th for total offense, 16th for passing, 7th for rushing, and 12th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 17th overall, 16th against the pass, 20th against the rush, and 28th for points allowed.  Also, New Orleans ranks 31st for turnovers lost and 23rd for takeaways.

Joe Burrow passed for three touchdowns and scrambled 19 yards for a score.  And then two of his scoring passes went to Ja’Marr Chase in a 30-26 comeback victory.  The second Chase touchdown came on a quick pass that the receiver turned into a 60-yard go-ahead score with 1:57 left.  Cincinnati rallied for nine points in the final four minutes.

Starting with Evan McPherson’s 52-yard field goal, Cincinnati trimmed New Orleans’ lead to 26-24.  The Saints failed to get a first down on their next series.  And then Blake Gillikin’s shanked punt fluttered out of bounds at the Cincinnati 40.  One play later, Chase scored to finish his day with seven catches for 132 yards.

In sum, New Orleans rushed for 228 yards as a team.  But they ended four drives inside the Cincinnati 20-yard line with Wil Lutz field goals.  Burrow’s other touchdown passes went for 9 yards to Joe Mixon and 15 yards to Chase.

Cardinals Shot Down in Seattle

Last game, the Arizona Cardinals lost 19-9 against the Seattle Seahawks as 2.5-point road favorites.  The game went under the NFL bets total of 50.5.  Arizona has a record of 2-4 straight up, 3-3 against the spread, and 1-5 over/under the total.  Arizona ranks 16th for total offense, 17th for passing, 15th for rushing, and 22nd for scoring.  Defensively they rank 12th overall, 19th against the pass, 7th against the rush, and 22nd for points allowed.  Also, Arizona ranks 4th for turnovers lost and 18th for takeaways.

Kenneth Walker III rushed for 97 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown to lead the Seahawks to a victory.  As a result, the Seahawks jumped into a share of the lead in the NFC West with San Francisco.  And they did it with an unproven feature back in Walker.   Walker took over after Penny broke his left leg last week.

Geno Smith completed 20 of 31 passes for 197 yards for Seattle.  Also, he ran for 48 yards on six carries.  Jason Myers kicked four field goals for the Seahawks.  In comparison, Kyler Murray completed 23 of 37 passes for 222 yards with an interception.  Murray rushed for 100 yards for the Cardinals.  The Seahawks had the league’s worst run defense heading into the game.  Yet Seattle held Arizona to 144 yards on the ground.  Seattle sacked Murray six times.
