The Buffalo Bills led the Kansas City Chiefs 36-33 with 13 seconds remaining in their AFC divisional playoff matchup. Thus, Buffalo was 13 seconds from a berth in the AFC championship. But 13 seconds was all Patrick Mahomes needed to engineer a game-tying desperation drive. And then KC broke Buffalo’s Super Bowl best dreams and hearts with a quick overtime TD. It was the cruelest playoff loss in recent memory. Perhaps ever. Now the question is, where do the Bills go from here? Gamblers have spoken in the future market. Buffalo is a Super Bowl favorite.

2022 Buffalo Bills – CashBet Odds Analysis
The Buffalo Bills are well led by head coach Sean McDermott. Since taking over in 2017, McDermott has produced four playoff campaigns in five years. Overall, his best sportsbook online record is 49-32. He has proven to be the best Buffalo coach since Marv Levy, who led the Bills to four consecutive Super Bowls from 1990-93.
McDermott faces his greatest Betting on Super Bowl challenge this year. Getting Buffalo past their playoff loss at Kansas City won’t be easy. A disaster like that can haunt a team. At the same time, it can inspire a club for greater things that follow.
McDermott has the one must-have asset to beat the Super Bowl betting odds. Quarterback Josh Allen was the equal of the Chiefs superstar Patrick Mahomes in the AFC playoff loss. Allen brings great leadership skills and a powerful work ethic. His love of the game rubs off on the rest of his team.
2022 Buffalo Bills – The Challenge to Overcome 13 Seconds
Correlate that the Bills vs. Chiefs playoff game is rated by many as the greatest in NFL history. It is definitely in the debate. Naturally, Bills fans probably don’t remember it that way. Losing one of the great all-time NFL games is NOT just a loss. A championship team should never lose a game after scoring the go-ahead touchdown with 13 seconds left.
The sequence of the Chiefs getting in position for a game-tying field goal pierces hearts. Additionally, Buffalo losing the overtime coin toss and Patrick Mahomes guiding a game-winning overtime drive will be haunting. Most important of all, the pains come from a missed opportunity.
Buffalo had a very good team in 2021. They had an MVP-level quarterback. On the other hand, Buffalo had a defense that led the NFL in points and yards allowed. Had the Bills held on to beat the Chiefs, they would have hosted an AFC championship game. Thus, Buffalo could have won a Super Bowl betting title. In a perfect world, “13 seconds” becomes motivation, not a curse.
There’s no reason the Bills can’t win a Super Bowl. But it takes a good run of luck on top of championship talent. Certainly, the Bills have the talent part down. Buffalo didn’t lose much in the offseason but added future Hall-of-Fame pass rusher, Von Miller. The Bills remain a pretty young team. The roster should have some growth potential. Indeed, gamblers believe there is no reason the Bills can’t take a big step from last season. Everything is in place for a Super Bowl run.
However, it doesn’t always work that way. Bills fans who lived through the early 1990s know all too well about the delicate balance of an aspiring champion. A supremely talented team could still miss winning a Super Bowl. Still, random chances should eventually go your way if you give yourself a chance.
In conclusion, the table is set for the Bills. They have a great chance to make something other than “13 seconds” their legacy. Buffalo rates as the most complete team in the AFC.
