Max Griffin

The 36-year-old Griffin (18-9, 6-7 UFC) last fought in March and succumbed to a decision loss to Neil Magny. Before the loss to Magny, Griffin racked up three straight wins against former welterweight champion Carlos Condit, Song Kenan and Ramiz Brahimaj. In his 18 victories, Griffin has stopped 11 fighters, including nine by knockout. He has power in his hands but he needs to improve on his defense to stand a chance of winning. Fortunately for him, he has rarely been knocked out or submitted due to his durability to last longer during fights.

Tim Means

Means (32-13-1, 1 no contest, 14-10, 1 NC UFC) has been a veteran of 25 UFC fights and has fought the likes of Magny, Dhiego Lima, Jorge Masvidal, Belal Muhammad, Thiago Alves and Kevin Holland. In his last bout against Holland, Means fell prey to a D’Arce choke, forcing him to tap and absorb the loss. Just like Griffin, Means was on a three-fight winning streak when he got submitted. The veteran fighter has received two Performance of the Night honors when he knocked out Josh Howard and Lima. He remains to be a quality opponent that can pull off surprises when he gets inside the cage. He has a 75% stoppage rate as he has 24 of his victories ending by either knockout or submission.

Griffin vs Means Summary

Means and Griffin will fight each other in a 170-pound clash that will determine their fates in the UFC. Griffin has a so-so record in the UFC but his durability has been well respected. On the other hand, Means’ hands have been notoriously “mean” as he has knocked out or submitted foes. However, Means is also capable of being knocked out and submitted as well. The two fighters are expected to bring in an exciting co-main event that will prepare the online sports betting fanatics for a top-of-the line main event.
