Joseph Holmes
The 6-foot-4 Holmes (8-2, 1-1 UFC) has been a stoppage machine in his first 10 fights, winning six of his bouts via submission and two by knockout. In his last match against Alen Amedovski in May, the 27-year-old Holmes dropped Amedovski with a knee that landed flush to the chin. He pounced on the opportunity with ground and pound and punches to the head. The end came when the American slid his left arm under the chin and squeezed his opponent to submission, gaining the victory in just 64 seconds. Holmes would look for another abbreviated fight against Park as he has the abilities to outsteady his shorter opponent and use maximum reach to force either a knockout or submission.
Park Jun Yong
Park (14-5, 4-2 UFC) looks to establish a reputation in the UFC as one of the tough Asians in a heavier weight class. He is on his way to doing it as the South Korean won four of his first six UFC fights, including one against Marc-Andre Barriault. In his last fight, Park decisioned Eryk Anders to gain his 14th win in the MMA scene. The fighter known as “The Iron Turtle” must have his defense up against Holmes to stand a chance of winning the fight. Park has eight stoppage wins, including five by knockouts. The South Korean has the ability to deliver significant strikes, but it will be a question whether he can deliver those accurately given Holmes’ height advantage.
