At the beginning of the week, gamblers bet the Los Angeles Rams up to Super Bowl best favorites over the Cincinnati Bengals. Both teams are coming off impressive runs to Super Bowl LVI. But the Rams were in the Super Bowl three years ago. Additionally, Los Angeles has been a perennial NFL Playoff team. Cincinnati emerged this season out of nowhere. Certainly, nobody saw the Bengals coming in the summer’s futures market. Strong coaching from Zac Taylor and great quarterbacking from Joe Burrow was the difference. However, the one factor that may be totally overrated is the Rams’ “home field.” It is true that the Super Bowl is played at the Rams home stadium. Los Angeles covered two of its three NFL gambling playoff matchups. But they did not get the money in their 20-17 NFC Championship Game against the 49ers as 3.5-point chalk. To summarize, the Bengals covered all three of their postseason games and seven straight overall. Like the Rams, Cincinnati showed remarkable courage in winning their three playoff games. All three matchups could have been lost. Also, the Bengals won road games at #1-seed Tennessee and then at the defending AFC champions Kansas City Chiefs. The Bengals are new, young, and fearless.
