Steelers Host Patriots on NFL Week 2 Betting, Latest Odds and Picks

NFL Betting: New England Patriots vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Information

Bill Belichick and Mike Tomlin have had a long NFL coaching rivalry.  Belichick has had the better of it, but Tomlin is ready to turn the tide.  Last week, Belichick’s Patriots suffered an unimpressive betting on NFL loss at Miami.  By contrast, the Steelers scored a win at defending AFC champion Cincinnati.  Belichick and the Pats made gains in 2021.  But a second consecutive playoff season looks mirky.  Pittsburgh will try and build on their win in Sunday’s home opener.  Still, Steeler fans hope rookie Kenny Pickett will soon be under center.

Patriots vs. Steelers CashBet Wagering Analysis

On this occasion, there will be a natural Bitcoin Sportsbook overreaction to week one results.  Gamblers were disgusted with New England’s putrid offensive performance at Miami.  In contrast, Pittsburgh will get newfound love after their win over the Bengals.

New England Stumbles Out of the Gate

Last week the Patriots lost at Miami 20-7 as 3-point dogs.  The game went under the Betting on football total of 46.5.  New England is 0-1 straight up, 0-1 against the spread, and 0-1 under the total.

The Dolphin defense dominated Sunday’s season opener with a defensive touchdown, an interception, and a forced fumble.  Correlate that Miami shut out the Patriots’ offense on all but one drive.  Tua Tagovailoa passed for 270 yards and a touchdown.  And the Dolphins provided an early look at their ability to contend in the division as they beat Bill Belichick’s Pats.

Second-year quarterback Mac Jones threw for 213 yards with a touchdown and interception for New England.  Running back Ty Montgomery caught the Patriots’ only touchdown of the game.  In comparison, Damien Harris led New England’s rushers with 48 yards on nine carries.

Of great concern was that Mac Jones was not available to reporters after the game.  He was seen entering an X-Ray room shortly after the game ended.  The Patriots then announced that he had a back injury.  And then there were no further details immediately offered.

Following the loss, Belichick bemoaned that New England consistently got into Miami territory.  But they only scored seven points.  Hence, he said New England must do a better job of finishing.  The Patriots scored a touchdown on their opening drive of the third quarter.  Following when Montgomery caught a pass in the flat from Jones on third-and-6 and rolled into the end zone to make it 17-7.

Steelers Steal One in Cincinnati

In week one, the Steelers scored a 23-20 overtime NFL bets win at Cincinnati.  Also, the game went under the total of 45.  The Steelers are 1-0 straight up and against the spread and 0-1 under the total.

Namely, Chris Boswell kicked a 53-yard field goal as time expired in overtime.  And the Steelers overcame T.J. Watt’s injury late in the fourth quarter to beat the Cincinnati Bengals.  In turn, it was a sloppy season opener for both teams.

Specifically, Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick had two of four interceptions off Joe Burrow.  Burrow rebounded from a lousy start and rallied Cincinnati from a 17-6 halftime deficit.  His 6-yard touchdown pass to Ja’Marr Chase tied it at 20 with 2 seconds left in regulation.  Fitzpatrick kept the Steelers alive by blocking Evan McPherson’s point-after try, sending the game to overtime.

McPherson and Boswell missed potential winning field goals in overtime.  Subsequently, Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky completed passes to set up the win.  Watt, the Defensive Player of the Year, left the field and headed to the locker room shortly before overtime with a pectoral injury.  Previously, he was his usual disruptive self, with a sack and a pick.

Burrow’s four interceptions were a career worst.  And he was sacked seven times in front of what was supposed to be an improved offensive line.  Mitch Trubisky was the first quarterback to start for the Steelers after Ben Roethlisberger’s retirement.  In sum, he was 21 for 38 for 194 yards with a TD.
