The 49ers say Garoppolo is gone.  While Purdy will be late to training camp as he rehabs.  Thus, Trey Lance will likely emerge as the new starter as long as he is healthy.

On the whole, the key asset that the 49ers have is arguably the best defense in the NFL.  And with a competent QB that can stay healthy, that may be all that is needed to beat the NFL Betting odds.
