Jingliang Li
The Xinjiang native stunned the MMA world by dispatching heavily-favored Muslim Salikhov in just two rounds in July. The 34-year-old Li (19-7 win-loss) earned his fifth “Performance of the Night” bonus by dismantling Salikhov via technical knockout. Li seeks to win his second straight match against former interim UFC lightweight champion Ferguson. The Chinese fighter known as “The Leech” has the edge over the American due to his experience in the 170-pound class although Ferguson previously fought as a welterweight.
Tony Ferguson
Ferguson (25-7) will fight in the octagon needing a big victory to resume his MMA career. The former interim UFC lightweight champion lost his last four bouts against Justin Gaethje, Charles Oliveira, Beneil Dariush, and Michael Chandler. The 38-year-old veteran known as “El Cucuy’ is coming off a two-round stoppage defeat to Chandler in May. Ferguson must use his bag of MMA tricks to outclass Li and kick off his campaign in the welterweight class on a winning note.

Li vs. Ferguson Summary
Jingliang Li is heavily favored by sports betting experts to defeat Tony Ferguson in a three-round clash. Jingliang is coming off a shocking victory over Salikhov and is aiming for more victories in the 170-pound class to climb the welterweight rankings. Ferguson, on the other hand, hopes to finally get his first win since June 2019. The Chinese fighter will be in for a tough fight against the American but if he keeps his poise and withstands Ferguson’s attacks, Li will emerge victorious in two rounds. Ferguson must find the vintage “El Cucuy” to outclass Li in a three-round wrestling match. He must win this bout or face the urges of retirement if he loses the fight against an up-and-coming Chinese welterweight contender.
