Rose Namajunas
“Thug Rose” has held the UFC female strawweight championship twice and this will be the first time she will defend it after winning against Weili Zhang in UFC 261 just this April. The first time that Rose Namajunas won the title was when she defeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk in November 2017 then lost it to Jessica Andrade after holding the title for 554 days. This will be her 15th professional bout and she has a 10-4 professional record. Half of her wins are earned through submissions and she is on back-to-back wins entering this match. This American fighter has only lost once in the last six bouts given to her by the UFC.
Weili Zhang
The legend of Weili Zhang has been very much documented prior to coming to the UFC. She dominated all her eight bouts in KunLun Fight to earn a UFC contract. Her warpath continued in the UFC and won her first four fights in the organization before earning a title fight. Among the fighters that she defeated in that streak were Jessica Andrade, Tecia Torres, Jessica Aguilar and Danielle Taylor. Her title bout against Joanna Jedrzejczyk ended in a split decision after five full rounds. Her second taste of defeat came just this April when she was knocked out with a head kick by Rose Namajunas in UFC 261.

It just feels that Rose Namajunas didn’t feel the ultimate power of Weili Zhang and got lucky with a head kick knockout. Expect Zhang to be more cautious and UFC fight odds see her reclaiming the title.
