Philadelphia Eagles Betting Odds, 2021 Season Analysis and Team Highlights

2021 Philadelphia Eagles Betting Odds

At the onset of the 2021 season, Philadelphia has a new quarterback.  Carson Wentz escaped to the Indianapolis Colts.  There, Wentz expects a life that is more peaceful, quiet, and stable.  Meanwhile, the Eagles prefer Jalen Hurts under center.  Hurts was on nobody’s list in the 2020 NFL Draft as a quarterback.  Now, owner Jeffrey Lurie and his lackey general manager Howe Roseman are all-in on Hurts.  Lurie thinks of himself as a real-life football expert.  He has friends over to watch game films at his home theater.  But gamblers don’t see Philadelphia as a Super Bowl best bet.

2021 Philadelphia Eagles CashBet Wagering Analysis

Of course, some casual gamblers are drinking the Sportsbook Kool-Aid on the Eagles.  But sharps are laughing at the prospect of Jalen Hurts as the quarterback.  These gamblers are not impressed.   This is why you see a regular-season win total of seven for the 2021 campaign.  Further insult for Eagles fans is that the NFC East is the worst division in football.  A merely average team could easily win it.

Specifically, the Cowboys are targeted as the betting on Super Bowl best bet in the NFC “Least.” Philadelphia should be embarrassed.  Cause by this, Wise Guys view the Eagles as a team to oppose for the 2021 campaign.

2021 Philadelphia Eagles Team Overview

First-round draft pick Devonta Smith, a wide receiver out of Alabama, is one positive.  Smith was one of the most coveted receivers in the 2021 NFL Draft.  Further, Smith is a former teammate of Jalen Hurts and was the 2020 Heisman Trophy winner.  In turn, the Eagles had one of the highest-rated draft hauls of any team.  Howie Roseman needed such a class.  Cause by his 2020 draft being graded as one of the worst in pro football.  Philadelphia lacked deep threat receivers in 2020.  Subsequently, Smith will fill the void of a top-end number one receiver.

Last season Jalen Hurts took over for the oft-injured Carson Wentz as a rookie.  Hurts finished with a 77.6 QB rating with a 6/4 TD/INT ratio.  And he averaged 7.2 yards per attempt compared to Wentz at 6.0.  Further, Wentz had a QB rating of just 72.8.  Hurts also averaged 5.6 yards per rush.  Running back Miles Sanders kept defenses honest.  To illuminate, Sanders rushed for 867 yards, 5.3 yards per carry, and six touchdowns in 2020.

The Eagles’ offensive line was one of the worst in the NFL and allowed 65 sacks in 2020.  One of the reasons why Wentz was frequently on the shelf was the lack of protection from the O-line.  Hurts has the mobility to work around that.

Rookie head coach Nick Sirianni steps into one of the most toxic organizations with the Super Bowl betting odds.  He spent the past three seasons as offensive coordinator for the Colts.  His immediate challenge is to make Hurts as serviceable as possible.

On the whole, Philadelphia’s 2017 Super Bowl championship was an accident.  Backup quarterback Nick Foles had his ten minutes of fame as the fill-in winner.  Ironically, Wentz was then the injured starter that saw his backup win the Eagles’ first Super Bowl title.  In turn, head coach Doug Pederson was fired three years later for never again coming close to such heights.

2021 Philadelphia Eagles Schedule Highlights

Philadelphia’s low Super Bowl betting expectations are revealed with the ultimate snub.  The Eagles don’t appear on NBC Sunday Night Football.  They do get a week three Monday night game at the rival Dallas Cowboys.  Still, that isn’t much of an endorsement from the folks that pay the NFL’s bills.  Not that long ago, Philadelphia was a hot television property.
