Patriots Seek to Shoot Down Cardinals on MNF  Week 14 Betting

Arizona Cardinals vs. New England Patriots NFL betting analysis and odds

Despite failing as head coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Kliff Kingsbury failed forward.  The Texas Tech alum caught on as coach of the Arizona Cardinals right after getting fired.  Kingsbury went 35-40 at Texas Tech.  In like manner, he flopped with three consecutive losing seasons before getting the axe.  Now, Kingsbury is far below par with the Cardinals.  He was hired to tutor Kyler Murray.  Instead, Kingsbury and Murray have a troubled partnership.  And the Cardinals are in betting on NFL freefall.  By contrast, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is getting more out of less.

Patriots vs. Cardinals CashBet Wagering Analysis

The Patriots remain something of a public top online sportsbook brand.  Hence New England will get most of the betting activity based on that branding.  By contrast, Arizona has the opposite problem.  The Cardinals are driving away gamblers with their consistently poor play and lack of value.

Patriots Suffer From Offensive Offense

Last game, the New England Patriots lost 24-10 against the Buffalo Bills as 3.5-point home dogs.  The game went under the Betting on football total of 44.  New England has a record of 6-6 straight up, 6-5-1 against the spread, and 5-7 over/under the total.  New England ranks 24th for total offense, 20th for passing, 23rd for rushing, and 21st for scoring.  Defensively they rank 7th overall, 10th against the pass, 11th against the rush, and 8th for points allowed.  Also, New England ranks 26th for turnovers lost and 8th for takeaways

Josh Allen threw two TD passes to spark the Bills.  In comparison, Devin Singletary had a 1-yard touchdown run to help the Bills win their third straight.    Allen became the first player in NFL history with three seasons of 25 passing TDs and five rushing scores.  Allen went 22 of 33 for 223 yards.  In turn, he consistently bought time in the pocket and found soft spots in the Patriots’ zone.  The Bills have sometimes struggled in the red zone but went 3-3 at New England.

Buffalo was without top pass rusher Von Miller.  Specifically, Miller suffered a knee injury in a Thanksgiving win over Detroit.  Yet Buffalo’s defense held the Patriots to three points over the final three quarters.  New England has lost two straight since posting a season-best, three-game win streak.

Following his most complete effort of the season, New England’s Mac Jones was flustered.  Jones finished 22 of 36 for 195 yards and a touchdown.  The Patriots were 3 of 12 on third down and 0 for 1 in the red zone.

Cardinals Can’s Get Off the Ground

Last game, the Arizona Cardinals lost 25-24 against the Los Angeles Chargers as 2.5-point home dogs.  The game went over the NFL bets total of 48.5.  Arizona has a record of 4-8 straight up, 6-6 against the spread, and 7-5 over/under the total.  Arizona ranks 20th for total offense, 17th for passing, 21st for rushing, and 16th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 21st overall, 24th against the pass, 10th against the rush, and 31st for points allowed.  Also, Arizona ranks 10th for turnovers lost and 16th for takeaways

Justin Herbert threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Austin Ekeler with 15 seconds left.  And then he hit Gerald Everett for the decisive conversion to give the Chargers a win.  Overall, Herbert completed 35 of 47 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns for the Chargers.  Arizona has lost four of five.  Hence, they have almost no shot at making the NFC playoff field.

Kyler Murray threw for 191 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception.  Also, he ran for a score after missing the previous two games with a hamstring injury.
