New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins Betting NFL Week 6 Picks and Analysis

New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins NFL Betting Odds and Picks

The Jets undeniably blew the head coaching hire with Adam Gase.  Gase flopped miserably in three NFL betting seasons at Miami.  Of course, the Jets are a reputed horrible NFL organization for good reason.  New York gladly took Miami’s trash and sold it as refurbished gold.  Gase went 7-9 in his first season with the Jets last year and is now off to a 0-5 start.  Presently it’s believed that Gase is already fired.  But the Jets see no need to pull the trigger with the season already lost.  Incompetent New York peaked with their 1968 Super Bowl III win.

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins CashBet Wagering Analysis

In this situation, we have some interesting sportsbook dynamics.  Gase will want to show well at Miami.  His Dolphins firing is something that hasn’t been lived down.  Problematic is that his players may not want to help.  As a matter of fact, Gase is one of the most hated coaches in football.  His personality clashes are legendary.  Gamblers know this but may not want to make the big Miami lay.  It is true that the Dolphins are playing better.  But this big line may be seen as too much too soon.

Jet’s Fans Scream Mayday, Mayday!

Last week the New York Jets lost to Arizona 30-10 as 7-point home dogs.  Under the total of 48.5 was a winning ticket too.  Arizona outgained New York 496 to 285 in total yards.  And held a 28 to 21 advantage in first downs.  New York was only 4 of 13 for third-down conversions.  So too were the Jets 0 of 2 for fourth downs.

Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray lit up the Jets for 380 yards passing and a touchdown.  Cursed starting quarterback Sam Darnold was out with a shoulder injury against Arizona.  And then he remains questionable for this week’s game.

As a result, New York has a betting on NFL record of 0-5 straight up and against the spread with three overs.  The Jets have NFL offensive rankings of 31st overall and 32nd for scoring.    Defensively the Jets rank 25th overall and 30th for points allowed.

Dolphins Make Leap Forward

Last week at San Francisco the Dolphins won 43-17 as 8.5-point dogs with the game going over 50.5.  Miami ambushed the cocky 49ers leading 30-7 at halftime.  San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was rendered useless by the Dolphins defense.  He was benched after going 7-17 for 77 yards passing with two interceptions and three sacks.  Meanwhile, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was outstanding.   To illuminate he was 22 of 28 for 350 yards passing and three touchdowns.

As a result, Miami’s pro football betting record is 2-3 straight up, 3-2 against the spread, and two under.  Miami is half a game behind the Patriots for second place in the AFC East.  Offensively the Dolphins rank 20th overall and 12th for scoring.  In like manner defensively Miami is 17th overall and ninth for points allowed.

New York makes for a strong NFL gambling contrarian bet.  Nobody wants the Jets.  However, oddsmakers have sweetened the pot.  Miami is not used to being in the role of expensive chalk.
