Los Angeles Chargers vs. Indianapolis Colts MNF Week 16 Best Bets and Odds

Chargers vs. Colts CashBet Wagering Analysis

The Indianapolis Colts are eager to end their lost betting on NFL season.  In the beginning was great promise when Matt Ryan was acquired from the Atlanta Falcons.  Ryan rewrote the Falcons’ quarterbacking record books as the GOAT of that franchise.  But it proved to be a bad fit from the start.  Subsequently, coach Frank Reich was fired for the flop out of the gate.  And then Reich’s replacement, Jeff Saturday, has proven unfit for Sunday.  The Colts have been outed as the NFL’s new joke franchise.  Last week they allowed the biggest comeback in NFL history.

Chargers vs. Colts CashBet Wagering Analysis

On Monday night, Indianapolis will host the Los Angeles Chargers.  LA has been one of the NFL’s most inconsistent teams in 2022.  But they remain in the best sportsbook online playoff race.  Casual gamblers want nothing to do with the Colts.  Correlate the Oddsmakers know this and will be forced to sweeten the pot on Indianapolis.  The Chargers are the better team, with much more to play for.  But can they deliver with an overlay price?  On the other hand, can the Colts get the money with the extra sugar?

Los Angeles Strikes Back With Winning Bolts

Last game, the Los Angeles Chargers won 17-14 against the Tennessee Titans as 3-point home favorites.  The game went under the Betting on football total of 47.  LA  has a record of 8-6 straight up, 8-5-1 against the spread, and 6-8 over/under the total.  Los Angeles ranks 12th for total offense, 2nd for passing, 31st for rushing, and 14th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 21st overall, 11th against the pass, 28th against the rush, and 25th for points allowed.  Also, Los Angeles ranks 8th for turnovers lost and 18th for takeaways.

Tennessee tied the game with 48 seconds left on Ryan Tannehill’s 1-yard QB sneak.  Next, Herbert led the Chargers 52 yards in six plays, culminating in Cameron Dicker’s 43-yard field goal with 4 seconds remaining.  Hence, the Chargers got a victory that bolstered Los Angeles’ playoff hopes.

LA QB Justin Herbert completed 28 of 42 passes for 313 yards.  However, he didn’t throw a touchdown for only the third time in 46 career games.  It was his fifth game-winning drive this season and the 13th of his career.

Colts Have No Kick

Last game, the Indianapolis Colts lost 39-36 against the Minnesota Vikings as 3.5-point road dogs.  The game went over the NFL bets total of 46.5.  Indianapolis has a record of 4-9-1 straight up, 6-8 against the spread, and 5-9 over/under the total.  Indianapolis ranks 24th for total offense, 19th for passing, 25th for rushing, and 29th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 12th overall, 10th against the pass, 20th against the rush, and 24th for points allowed.  Also, Indianapolis ranks 32nd for turnovers lost and 26th for takeaways.

Consider the Vikings completed the biggest comeback in NFL history.  Minnesota erased a 33-point deficit by beating the Colts 39-36.  The game-winner was Greg Joseph’s 40-yard field goal with three seconds left in overtime.  Thus, Minnesota won the NFC North division in their typical dramatic fashion.

Namely, Kirk Cousins passed for 460 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Vikings.  Minnesota trailed 36-7 late in the third quarter.  Minnesota became just the third team in league history to win ten games in a season by eight points or fewer.  The Vikings became only the second team in 1,551 regular-season or playoff games to trail by 30 or more points and still win.  Justin Jefferson had 12 catches for 123 yards.
