Jaguars and Jets Clash in Thursday Night Football Week 16 Betting

Jaguars vs. Jets CashBet Wagering Analysis online

Doug Pederson stepped into a betting on NFL mess upon taking over as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.  Previously, coach Urban Meyer proved unfit for the NFL.  Meyer was incapable of such a heavy lift as the Jaguars rebuild.  The 2021 season was a wasted one for Trevor Lawrence.  The first overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft has shown marked improvement under Pederson.  But the Jaguars have a difficult matchup on Thursday night.  The New York Jets are experiencing the tale of two seasons.

Jaguars vs. Jets CashBet Wagering Analysis online

Although the Jets are in hard times, coach Robert Saleh is forming the Jets into a serious playoff contender.  New York will draw most of the casual sector sportsbook support as a home team with a superior record.  But sharps will consider Jacksonville based on its improvement and the more favorable away team price.

Jaguars Take Big Leap Forward

Last game, the Jacksonville Jaguars won 40-34 against the Dallas Cowboys as 4-point home dogs.  The game went over the Betting on football total of 48.5.  Jacksonville has a record of 6-8 straight up, 6-7-1 against the spread, and 8-6 over/under the total.  Jacksonville ranks 6th for total offense, 10th for passing, 10th for rushing, and 12th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 27th overall, 29th against the pass, 18th against the rush, and 21st for points allowed.  Also, Jacksonville ranks 23rd for turnovers lost and 4th for takeaways.

Rayshawn Jenkins intercepted Dak Prescott’s tipped pass in overtime.  Subsequently, he returned it 52 yards for a touchdown.  The pick-6 gave the Jaguars a stunning victory over the Cowboys.  Tre Herndon tipped Prescott’s low throw to Noah Brown.  Hence, Jenkins made a shoelace grab and went untouched to the end zone.  As a result, Jacksonville ended a 20-game skid against teams from the other conference.

Overall, Trevor Lawrence completed 27 of 42 passes for 318 yards, with four touchdowns and an interception.  Three of his TD passes went to Zay Jones.  Additionally, Travis Etienne ran for 103 yards.

The shocker ended Dallas’ four-game winning streak.  And it prevented the Cowboys from securing an NFC playoff berth.  The Cowboys wrapped up a wild-card spot later Sunday when the New York Giants beat Washington.  Meanwhile, Jacksonville got within one game of reeling first-place Tennessee in the topsy-turvy AFC South.

The Jaguars stormed back from a 27-10 deficit to take the lead in the fourth.  But Dak Prescott and the Cowboys answered.  And then Trevor Lawrence responded by driving Jacksonville into position for Riley Patterson’s 48-yard field that sent the game into overtime.  In sum, Prescott completed 23 of 30 passes for 256 yards, with three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Jets Heading to Post Season Crash

Last game, the New York Jets lost 20-17 against the Detroit Lions as 2-point home favorites.  The game went under the NFL bets total of 43.5.  New York has a record of 7-7 straight up, 8-6 against the spread, and 5-9 over/under the total.  New York ranks 19th for total offense, 15th for passing, 24th for rushing, and 23rd for scoring.  Defensively they rank 3rd overall, 4th against the pass, 11th against the rush, and 5th for points allowed.  Also, New York ranks 22nd for turnovers lost and 21st for takeaways.

Jared Goff threw a go-ahead 51-yard touchdown pass to Brock Wright on fourth-and-1 with 1:49 remaining.  Thus, the Lions held on for a victory over Zach Wilson and the Jets on Sunday.  New York’s playoff chances are fading fast in the AFC.
