Cowboys Host Giants in Desperation Betting Matchup Sunday, October 11th

New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys NFL betting preview, odds and picks

When Mike McCarthy was hired as Cowboys coach fans were thrilled.  McCarthy had gravitas that predecessor Jason Garrett lacked.  However, the NFL betting results haven’t changed.  Sunday could bring feelings of awkwardness for McCarthy and Garrett.  Garrett serves as offensive coordinator of the New York Giants.  Now he makes his return to the stadium where he led America’s Team.  Dallas has no defense at all to note.  Of major concern is McCarthy’s reckless game decisions.  Two of which likely cost the Cowboys wins.  Dallas faces a must-win at home game against Garrett and the Giants.

New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys CashBet Wagering Analysis

In this situation, we have the intangible of Garrett’s return to Big D.  New York is not an easy sportsbook sale.  To be exact squares are terrified to take such teams on the road.  By contrast, the Cowboys are always popular with the masses.  Even in bad times.

A Giant Mess to Judge for Joe

New York has a betting on NFL record of 0-4 straight up, 2-2 against the spread, with three unders.  In sum, they have NFL rankings of 32nd for points scored and 13th for points allowed.    Last week the Giants lost at the Rams 17-9 as 13.5-point dogs.  Under the total of 50 came through too.  Big Blue’s defense came up strong holding LA to 58 yards rushing on 23 carries.  New York checked the Rams passing attack for only 182 yards.  But the Rams defense was even better totaling five sacks.

Defenseless Dallas Wastes Highly Productive Offense

Dallas is 1-3 straight up, 0-4 against the spread, and 3-1 over.  What’s more, they rank third for scoring offense but 32nd for points allowed.  Last week the Cowboys were upset at home by Cleveland 49-38.  Dallas was 3.5-point home chalks as the game cleared the total of 56.5.

Dallas trailed 41-14 heading into the fourth quarter.  And then rallied to get within 41-39 with 3:42 to play.  McCarthy chose an onside kick instead of deep kickoff with disastrous results.  Cleveland recovered and then scored the pro football betting backbreaker.  To show a 50-yard reverse touchdown run by Odell Beckham Jr. clinched it.

McCarthy’s blunder reminded everyone of similar antics at Los Angeles.  There he passed on a fourth-quarter game-tying field.  Instead, Dallas failed to convert the fourth down gamble.  As a result, the Cowboys lost to the Rams.

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys Against the Spread

Dallas has come away with the cash in just one of their last six games.  So too have four of their last five games gone over.  At AT&T Stadium the Cowboys have covered just two of their last six.  Dallas cleared the total in five of their last six at home.  Specifically, in NFC East action the Cowboys are 10-2 on the board.  Dallas is 12-4 over the total as home chalk.  And 12-4 over after a football betting loss.

To begin with, the Giants have covered five straight road games.  Eight of their last 12 away games cleared the total.   Most important of all the Giants have covered 12 of their last 15 as road dogs.

Dallas has bossed the payout window against New York with five straight covers.  15 of the last 22 between these teams went over.  New York paid in only one of their last seven visits to Dallas.  This series has gone over in eight of the last 11 meetings in Big D.

New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys CashBet Free Pick

As was previously noted the Cowboys have a strong NFL gambling edge over New York.  Head to head results may be the best way to handicap this game.  New York lacks the offense to hang here.
