Once upon a time, the 49ers and Rams had a raging rivalry in the NFC West. In the 1970s and 1980s, either the Rams or the 49ers would usually win the NFC West. But when the Rams moved to St. Louis, the rivalry was badly damaged. It has taken the Rams’ return to Los Angeles to rekindle the passion.
