Browns Host Bengals on Monday Night Football Week 8 Betting

Bengals vs. Browns CashBet Wagering Analysis

Daniel Snyder of the Washington Commanders is the worst betting on NFL owner.  Yet there are others in the conversation.  Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslem is one of those owners.  Haslem can’t get out of his team’s way.    Consider that the Browns stunned the football world two years ago by winning a playoff game at the Pittsburgh Steelers.  And when they gave the Chiefs a playoff scare, gamblers believed that Cleveland made a big leap forward.  Baker Mayfield, the starting QB of that time, was moved to Carolina.  And new quarterback Deshaun Watson is suspended.

Bengals vs. Browns CashBet Wagering Analysis

Of course, the Bengals earned a lot of top online sportsbook respect from the gambling public for making and nearly winning the Super Bowl.  But Cincinnati will get a discount price as the quality road team.  That will appeal to Wise Guys.  Cleveland may get a better price than usual at home.  In turn, the Browns’ poor start will draw some sharps to them as a contrarian value play.  The casual sector will favor the Bengals.

As mentioned earlier, the Browns are a poorly led operation.  Worst of all, Watson was acquired for a boatload of draft picks with the knowledge that he may face that suspension.  You can’t make anything up when it comes to Jimmy Haslem.  Hence, many gamblers are heading for the tall grass.

Bengals Make Leap Into AFC North Lead

Last game, the Cincinnati Bengals won 35-17 against the Atlanta Falcons as 6.5-point home favorites.  The game went over the Betting on football total of 48.  Cincinnati has a record of 4-3 straight up, 5-2 against the spread, and 2-5 over/under the total.  Cincinnati ranks 11th for total offense, 5th for passing, 28th for rushing, and 8th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 11th overall, 9th against the pass, 19th against the rush, and 8th for points allowed.  Also, Cincinnati ranks 13th for turnovers lost and 14th for takeaways.

Namely, Joe Burrow passed for 345 yards in the first half alone as the Bengals scored on their first four possessions.  The Cincinnati quarterback played his best game of the season.  Burrow finished 34 of 42 for 481 yards and three touchdowns.  Also, he added a 1-yard run for a score.  Burrow became the first QB to have five games of 400 yards or more in his first three seasons.  Cincinnati moved above .500 for the first time this season.  Now they are in a tie with Baltimore atop the AFC North.

Cincinnati receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd both eclipsed the 100-yard mark in the first half.  Boyd finished with a career-high 155 yards on eight catches.  At the same time, Chase also caught eight passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns.

Brown Out for Cleveland’s Playoff Hopes?

Last game, the Cleveland Browns lost 23-20 against the Baltimore Ravens as 6.5-point road dogs.  The game went under the NFL bets total of 46.5.  Cleveland has a record of 2-5 straight up, 3-4 against the spread, and 5-2 over/under the total.  Cleveland ranks 6th for total offense, 22nd for passing, 3rd for rushing, and 10th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 16th overall, 13th against the pass, 25th against the rush, and 29th for points allowed.  Also, Cleveland ranks 23rd for turnovers lost and 26th for takeaways.

Overall, Baltimore outrushed Nick Chubb and Cleveland 160-113.  Late on, a Baltimore Justice Hill fumble gave Cleveland the ball at its own 16 with 3:12 to play.  The Browns reached the Baltimore 34.  Cleveland still made it back into position to try a long field goal.  But a controversial false start before that snap forced Cade York to try it from 60.  Malik Harrison blocked his attempt.
