At the onset of each season, the Cowboys are a Super Bowl best bet on the futures board. Dallas was proclaimed “America’s Team” in 1978, much to the anger and chagrin of the rest of the league. But the moniker has forever stuck. One glance at the NFL futures board is indicative of that iconic status. TV networks and sportsbooks would agree that the Cowboys draw eyeballs and betting handle like no other franchise. All of which leads to unrealistic expectations. Certainly, that was the case for the 2020 NFL season. Dallas flopped and gushed red ink.

2021 Dallas Cowboys CashBet Wagering Analysis
Here we go again. Dallas is the sportsbook favorite to win the NFC East. For all that hype, the Cowboys’ deficiencies are once again ignored by the masses. But for 2021, there is some justification for the Dallas chalk status. Specifically, the NFC East is the worst division in football. If the Cowboys had even a mediocre defense in 2020, they would have won the NFC “Least” going away. And the expectation for 2021 is that Dallas will field a much-improved stop unit.
Starting with its public money influence, it isn’t easy to get a good value on the Cowboys. Gamblers must be judicious about getting the best possible price on Dallas. Cause by their worldwide popularity, the Cowboys draw a considerable amount of blindly faithful cash. Fans are excited about the 2021 hype regarding a refortified defense and the return of Dak Prescott as starting quarterback.
Jerry World of Make Believe
To his credit, Cowboy owner Jerry Jones has made his franchise the most valuable and iconic in the NFL. In like manner to the late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner, Jones sells an image that the masses can’t resist. However, there is a distinct difference between Jones and “The Boss.” Under Steinbrenner’s iron fist, the Yankees became a dynasty on the field as well as in the boardroom. Jones has not been able to match Steinbrenner when it comes to actual championships.
In the spring of 1994, the Cowboys were coming off two consecutive Betting on Super Bowl championships. But there was not enough room for the Texas-sized egos of Jones and head coach Jimmy Johnson. In view of this, Johnson passed up the chance to win a third straight Super Bowl title. Three consecutive Super Bowl championships remain an accomplishment never attained in history. Most football community members believe Dallas could have pulled that off in 1994. Instead, Johnson stormed out, much to the delight of Jones.
After Jones’ buddy Barry Switzer led the 1995 Cowboys to the Super Bowl title with Johnson’s players, things quickly fell apart. Dallas has never won another Super Bowl. That’s the reality. Yet, the public perception is quite different. Jones’ marketing genius gives the Cowboys a championship image.
2021 Cowboys Will be Better
Last year the Cowboys lost quarterback Dak Prescott early in the season and never had a representative defense. Dallas finished 6-10 straight up and 5-11 against the spread. The combination of injuries and terrible defense blew up the Cowboys with the Super Bowl betting odds. Correlate Washington won the NFC East with a 7-9 record.
Although it’s true Dallas is perpetually overhyped, they are also much improved. Dallas is coming off a season in which everything went wrong. The Football Gods aren’t likely to be so cruel two years in a row.
Prescott’s return and a revitalized defense will improve the Super Bowl betting prospects of Dallas. In fact, the Cowboys drafted six defenders with their first six picks in the 2021 NFL Draft. Former Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn arrives to take over as defensive coordinator. A unit rendered defenseless in 2020 will have to be better.
Accordingly, the most important NFL gambling factor in favor of Dallas is the NFC East. No other team can match Dallas’ potential for 2021.
