Overall, Patrick Cantlay is ranked 6th on the Official World Golf Ranking.  Cantlay finished 14th at the US Open.  His most recent win was last summer at the BMW Championship.  Cantlay finished 3rd or better in two of his most recent three tournaments before the US Open.  However, he has finished 26th or worse in five of his last eight events.  That includes two missed cuts.

Sam Burns Continues Climb

Last week Sam Burns finished 27th at the US Open.  But he remains ranked 9th on the Official World Golf Ranking.  He was ranked 49th at the end of 2021.  Recently, Burns was the winner of the Charles Schwab Open.  Also, he was the winner of the Valspar Championship.

Schauffele Continues Slump

To summarize, Xander Schauffele ranks 15th on the Official World Golf Ranking.  Schauffele is coming off a 14th place finish at the US Open.  He has cracked the top-10 in only one of his most recent eight tournaments.  He has not posted a win since the Olympic games one year ago.

Spieth Falls Back

Late on, Jordan Spieth has finished out of the top-10 in four consecutive tournaments and 10 of his last 12.  Spieth is 11th on the Official World Golf Ranking.  He bombed out with a finish of 37th at the US Open.
