Tennessee vs. Clemson Orange Bowl Best Bets, CashBet Odds and Predictions

Certainly, Tennessee made significant progress in 2022.  Finally, Tennessee beat s rivals such as Florida, LSU, Alabama, and Kentucky.  However, the Volunteers’ lack of reliable defense burned them down the NCAAF bets stretch.  Clemson had another good season.  And they made it back to the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game after missing it last year.  However, it was not a great season for coach Dabo Swinney’s program.  The Tigers were never a serious threat for the College Football Playoff.  Of great concern is that Clemson’s offense has been stagnant for two years.

Orange Bowl CashBet Overview

On the whole, Clemson remains a respected brand in the casual sector.  Cause by their branding as a former regular College Football Playoff participant.  By contrast, Tennessee earned much attention and respect for its breakout season.  Especially their win over the Alabama Crimson Tide.  Thus, Sportsbook Odds betting activity should be split.

Clemson Wins ACC Title But Falls Short of Expectations

Last game, the Clemson Tigers won 39-10 against the North Carolina Tar Heels as 7-point favorites in the ACC championship game.  The game went under the Betting on College Football total of 64.  Clemson has a record of 11-2 straight up, 7-6 against the spread, and 7-6 over/under the total.  Clemson ranks 56th for total offense, 74th for passing, 48th for rushing, and 25th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 26th overall, 78th against the pass, 11th against the rush, and 18th for points allowed.  Also, Clemson ranks 123rd for fewest turnovers lost and 25th for takeaways.

Freshman Cade Klubnik came off the bench to complete 20 of 24 passes for 279 yards and a touchdown.  Also, Klubnik ran for a TD to lead Clemson to the ACC championship.  Cornerback Nate Wiggins broke up two passes in the end zone and blocked a field goal.  Most important of all, he returned an interception 98 yards for a touchdown.  The Tigers won their seventh ACC title in eight seasons.

Clemson won six straight ACC championships from 2015 to 2020.  However, they failed to reach the title game last season.  But coach Dabo Swinney’s Tigers rebounded in a big way, going 9-0 against ACC foes in 2022.

Swinney said Klubnik would start in the upcoming Orange Bowl.  With Clemson down 7-0, Swinney benched two-year starter DJ Uiagalelei.  Following the Tigers’ failure to pick up a first down on their first two possessions.  Swinney turned to Klubnik, a 5-star recruit from Austin, Texas.  Subsequently, he responded by leading the Tigers to four straight scores and a 24-10 lead at halftime.  Clemson stretched it to 39-10 heading into the fourth quarter.

Tennessee Restores the Roar of Big Orange Nation

Last game, the Tennessee Volunteers won 56-0 against the Vanderbilt Commodores as 14-point road favorites.  The game went under the bet on NCAAF total of 64.  Tennessee has a record of 10-2 straight up, 9-3 against the spread, and 7-5 over/under the total.  Tennessee ranks 1st for total offense, 3rd for passing, 18th for rushing, and 1st for scoring.  Defensively they rank 87th overall, 127th against the pass, 19th against the rush, and 47th for points allowed.  Also, Tennessee ranks 75th for fewest turnovers lost and 74th for takeaways.

Certainly, it was a season of significant progress for the Tennessee Volunteers in 2022.  Of course, Tennessee lost to the #1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs.  Cause by the defending national champions having the better defense.  Of major concern was when the Gamecocks wiped out Big Orange at South Carolina.  Still, it was a significant step forward for the Volunteers in Josh Heupel’s second season on the job.  Heupel may have been a fallback choice when he was hired, but he has won over Vols Nation.
