Georgia vs. South Carolina CashBet Wagering Analysis

Based on national championship branding, the top online sportsbook public will be on Georgia for this game.  Most casual gamblers are well aware of the Bulldogs’ strong recruiting prowess over the past several years under coach Kirby Smart.  Further, South Carolina can’t match Georgia’s history of recent resume.  Some bargain hunters will consider the Gamecocks a home dog getting a better price than merited.  Cause by oddsmakers wanting to keep the action even.

National Champs Defending with Power

Last Saturday, the Georgia Bulldogs scored a 33-0 shutout win against Samford as 53-point favorites.  Georgia has a Betting on College Football record of 2-0 straight up, 1-1 against the spread, and 0-2 over/under the total.

Stetson Bennett passed for 300 yards while throwing and running for touchdowns.  And No. 2 Georgia’s rebuilt defense delivered another dominant performance in the Bulldogs’ win on Saturday.  Bennett completed 24 of 34 passes.  Including a 3-yard scoring pass to freshman Dillon Bell.

On the other hand, Georgia has reloaded on defense after losing eight players in this year’s NFL draft.  Including five in the first round.  Overall, Georgia had a record 15 players taken in the draft.  Georgia gave up only one first down in the first half and led 30-0 at the break.

South Carolina Limps Home

Last week, the South Carolina Gamecocks were beaten 44-30 against the Arkansas Razorbacks as a 9-point road dog.  South Carolina has a bet on NCAAF record of 1-1 straight up, 1-1 against the spread, and 1-1 over/under the total.

Rocket Sanders ran for a career-high 156 yards and two touchdowns in helping the No. 16 Razorbacks beat South Carlina.  Last year Sanders ran for 578 yards and five touchdowns.  With returning starter Dominique Johnson still sidelined recovering from a knee injury, Sanders has taken nearly all of the first-team reps.  As a result, Arkansas has a 2-0 start.  And Sanders is the first Razorbacks player since 2019 with back-to-back 100-yard games.

Sanders scored the first two touchdowns of the game.  In turn, Arkansas (2-0, 1-0 Southeastern Conference) found the end zone on each of its first three possessions.  The Hogs opened a 21-3 lead.  The Gamecocks (1-1, 0-1) responded with two straight scores to pull within 21-16.

Sanders wouldn’t score again as KJ Jefferson was the keystone for most of the Razorbacks’ second-half touchdowns.  Yet Sanders ran for 95 of his 156 yards in the final 30 minutes.  Arkansas ran for 295 yards, and AJ Green and Rashod Dubinion also chipped in touchdowns.

Jefferson led a 14-play, 59-yard drive capped with his own 2-yard rushing touchdown at the start of the fourth quarter.  And that put Arkansas back ahead by two scores.  South Carolina lost a fumble on its next possession.  And then Jefferson added a touchdown pass to Warren Thompson in response.  Ultimately, he put the Gamecocks too far behind to rally.

By contrast, Spencer Rattler could not move the needle for South Carolina.  The Oklahoma transfer threw for 371 yards and a touchdown on 23 of 38 passing.  But Rattler was intercepted in the end zone midway through the fourth quarter by Dwight McGlothern.  The Gamecocks had three turnovers.
