Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at Army Black Knights Betting predicitons, odds and spread

Last season was quite the fall for Middle Tennessee.  Coach Rick Stockstill’s team fell from 8-6 in 2018 to 4-8 in 2019.  MTSU had a four-season bowl streak snapped.  It was Middle Tennessee’s first losing season since 2011.  The rebuilding offense was inconsistent.  While the defense was a massive College football betting liability.  Army had a similar experience for the 2019 season.  They regressed from an 11-2 mark to 5-8 and a loss to Navy.  Saturday brings the opening of the college football season.  And a quest for redemption by Middle Tennessee and Army.

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at Army Black Knights CashBet Wagering Analysis

On this occasion Army could generate the majority of the online sportsbook handle.  Casual fans are much more familiar with the Black Knights.  Only sharps have any useful familiarity with the Blue Raiders.  Both squares and sharps recall Army posted double-digit win seasons in 2018 and 2019.  Accordingly, Middle Tennessee is seen as a team that could rebound.  Bargain hunters will shop them hard.  Counter to that is a Black Knights team with experience.  Each team is seen as serious bowl contenders.  Live betting ebb and flow will be attractive to many gamblers.

Middle Tennessee Draws on its History

Since taking over as Middle Tennessee coach in 2006 Rick Stockstill has created a stable winning environment. Stockstill led the Blue Raiders to a bowl that year and has eight career bowl bids.  Further, Stockstill has one conference and one division title.  He is a three-time coach of the year awardee.

Specifically, quarterback Asher O’Hara will be the key to the 2020 Blue Raiders season.  Middle has a strong Betting on college football reputation for passing offense.  And O’Hara feeds into that image.  He was a do it all playmaker in 2019. To illuminate O’Hara passed for 2616 yards with a 20/8 touchdown to interception ratio.  His quarterback rating was 143.2.  And then was O’Hara adding 1044 yards rushing with 5.2 yards per carry with nine touchdowns.  Ohara’s favorite target was Jarrin Pierce with 42 catches, 562 yards, and four touchdowns.  Pierce returns for his senior season.

Army Option Goes Rolling Along

Second in the nation for rushing yards in 2019 is indicative of Army’s ability.   Jabari Laws takes over as the new starting quarterback.  Last year in a limited backup role he averaged 6.4 yards per carry.  Equally important was his 227.1 passer rating.  Laws is expected to maintain the Black Knights bet on NCAAF ability to control games.  Army’s ground attack keeps its undermanned defense off the field.  And eats up huge chunks of clock.

As mentioned earlier Army has not delivered betting on NCAAF profits at home.  MTSU gets the money as dogs and on the road. Also favoring Middle is the extra practice time in preparing for the Army option.  What’s more, taking the Blue Raiders fades the public.
