The NCAAF bets success of BYU has caught up with them on the field and board this year. BYU is taken more seriously by opponents and gamblers. Cause by its improved standing as a national program. But with that success came more betting activity and higher prices on the Cougars. Thus, sharps aren’t surprised that BYU is in the red for the current campaign. From 2006 through 2014, the East Carolina Pirates went bowling eight times. However, they haven’t bowled in seven years. In 2022, 4th-year head coach Mike Houston is on the cusp of changing that.

Holton Ahlers ran for a score and threw a touchdown pass in the second quarter. Correlate that East Carolina jumped out to a big lead and cruised to victory. Freshman Andrew Conrad’s 28-yard first-quarter field goal and Ahlers’ 3-yard touchdown run gave East Carolina a 10-0 lead. Subsequently, Ahlers connected with C.J. Johnson for a 39-yard touchdown and a 17-0 advantage. And then freshman Colton Boomer kicked a 27-yard field goal on the final play of the half to get UCF on the scoreboard.
In sum, Ahlers completed 30 of 36 passes for 311 yards for East Carolina. Johnson hauled in 11 passes for 140 yards. Mitchell finished with 105 yards on 16 carries. On the other hand, John Rhys Plumlee totaled 296 yards on 25-of-37 passing with three interceptions for UCF.
BYU Has Become Clawless Cougars
Last game, the BYU Cougars lost 41-14 against the Liberty Flames as 7-point road favorites. The game went under the bet on NCAAF total of 58. BYU has a record of 4-4 straight up, 2-6 against the spread, and 5-3 over/under the total. BYU ranks 54th for total offense, 33rd for passing, 72nd for rushing, and 53rd for scoring. Defensively they rank 94th overall, 50th against the pass, 112th against the rush, and 99th for points allowed. Also, BYU ranks 15th for fewest turnovers lost and 64th for takeaways.
Dae Dae Hunter ran for 213 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries. In comparison, Shedro Louis added two rushing TDs. Liberty scored the final 38 points. Johnathan Bennett completed 22 of 29 passes for 247 yards and touchdowns for Liberty. Jaren Hall threw touchdown passes of 46 yards to Puka Nacua and 20 yards to Isaac Rex less than 2 minutes apart. And that gave BYU a 14-3 lead late in the first quarter.
However, Liberty answered with an 11-play, 85-yard drive. Bennett threw a 5-yard TD pass to Austin Henderson to give the Flames the lead for good with about 5 minutes remaining in the first half. In sum, Hall finished 16-of-34 passing for 187 yards.
