Army Aims for Revenge and to Avoid Losing Season

Last game, the Army Black Knights won 44-7 against the UMass Minutemen as 19.5-point road favorites.  The game went over the bet on NCAAF total of 46.  Army has a record of 5-6 straight up, 6-5 against the spread, and 7-4 over/under the total.  Army ranks 73rd for total offense, 130th for passing, 2nd for rushing, and 58th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 52nd overall, 6th against the pass, 116th against the rush, and 38th for points allowed.  Also, Army ranks 68th for fewest turnovers lost and 59th for takeaways.

Namely, Tyhier Tyler ran for three second-quarter touchdowns.  At the onset, Army staked UMass to a 7-0 first-quarter lead.  But then Army rolled to a 44-7 win over the Minutemen on Saturday afternoon.  The senior Tyler has 12 rushing touchdowns.  And he is the first Army quarterback to run for ten or more touchdowns in a season since Kelvin Hopkins Jr. ran for 17 in 2018.  To summarize, Tyler completed both of his pass attempts.  And he carried 11 times for 101 yards to lead the Black Knights.

Army ran for 329 yards and six touchdowns.  In turn, Tyler scored on runs of 27, 4, and 1 yard.  Jakobi Buchanan scored twice.  At the same time, Bryson Daily added a 54-yard run for a touchdown with 90 seconds left.  Army’s defense held UMass to just 90 yards on the ground.
