2022 Future Betting Tennessee Volunteers Odds and Preview

Namely, Josh Heupel gave Tennessee fans everything they could’ve wanted out of his first College football betting season.  It was a promising first season from a new head coach in a rebuilding run.  It is true that fans and gamblers hoped for more than a 7-6 season.  And it would have been dreamy to have been more competitive against Georgia and Alabama.  While losing to Ole Miss and dropping the bowl game was a buzzkill.  But the takeaway was that the offense was electrifying.  Finally, the Big Orange program has an identity to build around.

CashBet Odds Analysis – 2022 Tennessee Volunteers

Last year Tennessee fans and gamblers wanted to see hope for the top online sportsbook future.  Everyone concerned wanted to be able to see the vision for what was coming.  To his credit, Heupel provided just that.  He provided offense, excitement, and some fear in opponents’ minds.   Now the rest of the SEC has been warned.  Either get off the bus ready to up 35 points bare minimum, or you are in trouble.

Yet before everyone is too excited, they must brace for a bet on NCAAF reality check.  Still, there will be rocky spots on Rocky Top.  Heupel is only in his second year.  At the onset, he inherited a nuclear waste dump of a program.

First, the offensive line has to pass protect better.  At the same time, the defense has to be stronger under the pressure of always being on the field.  Meanwhile, the betting on NCAAF schedule remains brutal as always.  Alabama, at LSU, at Georgia, Florida, and at Pitt aren’t going to be a walk in the park.  But improvement is real.  The offense will give this team a realistic shot to do big things against the powerhouse brands.

Indeed, Tennessee is on the cusp of being great again.  There is no reason why the program can’t take another big Betting on college football step forward.

Tennessee Volunteers 2021 Performance

Last year the Vols were ninth in the nation overall, averaging 475 yards and 39 points per game.  Consider they didn’t have everything in the right place in the first year of the Heupel era.  The offense failed to get to 30 against Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Florida.  However, it was 7-1 when it got to 35 points or more.  But 0-5 when it didn’t.  This year’s attack should hit 35 consistently.

Overall, Hendon Hooker is the most underappreciated quarterback in college football.  Hooker has produced big numbers, whether at Virginia Tech or in 2021 at Tennessee.  Yet he somehow didn’t get the gig to start last season.  Later he took over for Joe Milton and threw for close to 3,000 yards with 31 touchdowns and three picks.

Leading receiver Cedric Tillman is back after catching 64 passes for 1,081 yards and 12 scores.  Now Bru McCoy arrives from USC.  Meanwhile, tight ends Princeton Fant, and Jacob Warren are impressive targets.  Hooker won’t have any problems spreading the ball around.

Of great concern is that the offensive line needs to protect Hooker more than in 2021. The UT offensive line was strong for the running game.  But it allowed 44 sacks.  That was the most in the SEC.

Cause by their style of play, the Vols will always get dominated in the time of possession charts.  Still, the defense has to do whatever it can to get that high-speed attack back on the field as much as possible.  In 2021 the Big Orange defense was the second-worst in the SEC at coming up with third down stops.  On the other hand, the defense was better at this than it was in 2020.
