Houston At the Point for 2022-23 Final Four and Title

CashBet Odds to Win National Championship

First-year head coach Hubert Davis faced a monumental NCAA Basketball bets challenge for 2021-22.  First, he was taking over one of the top jobs in college basketball.  Davis was following legendary coach Roy Williams.  And he was in the shadow of another coaching great.  Namely, Mike Krzyzewski, the sport’s all-time wins leader and the coach of the Tar Heels’ hated blue-blood rival, Duke.  Coach K was in his final season at Duke. Coach K had a roster that could win it all.  But Davis overcame all challenges to lead UNC to the Final Four.

NCAA Basketball Betting:  2022-23 Top Contenders

When: The season Runs Now Through April 3, 2023

CashBet Odds to Win National Championship:  Houston Cougars +730, Kentucky Wildcats +1040, North Carolina Tar Heels +1060, Gonzaga Bulldogs +1100, Baylor Bears +1320, Texas Longhorns +1420, UCLA Bruins +1800, Kansas Jayhawks +1720, Duke Blue Devils +1780, Arkansas Razorbacks +1940, All Other Teams +2300 or Higher

Can North Carolina Finish?

At the beginning, North Carolina has depth and experience.  Juniors Love and RJ Davis lead the backcourt.  Armando Bacot, a 6-foot-11 senior, is the top returning scorer and rebounder in the Atlantic Coast Conference.  Leaky Black, a 6-9 senior, is a Best sportsbook online defensive force on the front line next to Bacot.  The Tar Heels rate highly in 3-point shooting, dribble-drive scoring, interior defense, and rebounding.  Also, the coach is proven to be up to the challenge.

Kentucky Primed to Reclaim Historic Glory

At the onset is Oscar Tshiebwe, a 6-9 senior who averaged 17.4 points and 15.1 rebounds last season.  He’s a walking double-double and the best big man in the nation.  However, after minor knee surgery, Tshiebwe’s Betting on College basketball status for November is in question.

Coach John Calipari has experienced returnees in point guard Sahvir Wheeler and senior Jacob Toppin, a 6-9 power forward.  CJ Fredrick (Iowa) and Antonio Reeves (Illinois State) are transfers who can hit 3s in bunches.  Last year Kentucky suffered an epic bet on college basketball loss to Saint Peter’s.  Now the Wildcats have the firepower to reach the Final Four

Houston Emerges as One of America’s Most Consistent Teams

Senior guard Marcus Sasser is ready to be a star.  Subsequently, he returns after a foot injury limited him to 12 games last season.  Junior guards Tramon Mark and Jamal Shead complement Sasser.  Of course, Kelvin Sampson is an outstanding defensive coach.  And he built a roster loaded with versatile athletes.  The Cougars allowed 58.8 points per game last season.  In turn, they will likely rank in the top 10 in defensive efficiency.

UCLA Remains Final Four Material

Coach Mick Cronin reloaded with two five-star freshmen in guard Amari Bailey and 6-10 Adem Bona.  Point guard Tyger Campbell and forward Jaime Jaquez remain leaders from the 2021 Final Four team.  So Cronin has Betting on NCAAB experience to go with an abundance of young talent.  The Bruins can be title contenders if junior guard Jaylen Clark and 6-10 Mac Etienne mature into major roles.

Is This Finally the Year for Gonzaga?

The Bulldogs were the favorites to win the NCAA title in the past two years.  However, they came up short with teams led by stars Jalen Suggs and Chet Holmgren.  By contrast, this Zags team is not as talented.  And they are likely overrated again.

First, Senior forward Drew Timme is a mainstay.  Timme averaged 18.4 PPG for the nation’s highest-scoring offense (87.2 PPG).  Additionally, Coach Mark Few reeled in Chattanooga transfer guard Malachi Smith.  Accordingly, Smith was the top player in the Southern Conference.  He joins returnees Rasir Bolton and Julian Strawther in the backcourt.

Bear Market on Baylor

Last year the Bears reached No. 1 in the polls and tied Kansas for the Big 12 regular-season title.  Coach Scott drew’s top recruit is guard Keyonte George, who has the NBA in his near future.  LJ Cryer and Langston Love return after each suffered season-ending injuries.   While Adam Flagler and 6-10 Flo Thamba are now seniors who played roles on the 2021 NCAA championship team.  Drew had a combined 55-9 record the past two seasons.
