Date: November 25, 2020

2021 March Madness Betting CashBet Analysis

On this occasion, we see top teams from last year on top of the sportsbook board.  As usual futures betting is often based on the past.  At least with casual gamblers.  Sharps may look down the list a bit.  Teams like Michigan State and Villanova could offer greater value.

Baylor Bears

First on the list of the college basketball community is Baylor.  Vast numbers of gamblers also see the Bears as 2021 March Madness betting elite.  Jared Butler leads one of the best backcourts in college hoops.  While Scott Drew has emerged as a trusted top tier coach.

Virginia Cavaliers

Following their 2019 national championship, Virginia was in transition for 2019-20.  Coach Tony Bennett’s Cavaliers struggled early but finished strong.  Most key members of last year’s team return.  On the whole, Virginia will again boast the best defense in college basketball.

Kansas Jayhawks

Coach Bill Self has owned the Big 12 Conference.  Last year the Jayhawks were a likely one seed before things shut down.  Keep an eye on Ochai Agbaji.  To be exact he will be called upon to lead the offense for 2020-21.

Gonzaga Bulldogs

Gonzaga is derided by the masses for their struggles in the NCAA Tournament.  Yet the Bulldogs have won 30 or more games four years in a row.  Coach Mark Few’s Bulldogs are consistent bet on NCAA basketball contenders.  Senior Corey Kispert returns to lead a team mixed with experience and youth.  Naturally, the Zags will dominate the West Coast Conference.

Kentucky Wildcats

Last year was yet another SEC championship for the Wildcats.  John Calipari has lost his six top scorers.  However as always, the king of “One and Done” recruiting has restocked the cupboard.  Calipari’s latest recruiting class ranks near the nation’s best.

Duke Blue Devils

Granted Duke and coach Mike Krzyzewski epitomize name-brand status.  Coach K begins the season with 1157 career wins and will pad that total with many more.  This year the Blue Devils are raw but highly talented.  Specifically, a super-powered recruiting class will be counted on to get Duke to the Final Four.  Matthew Hurt is the most familiar returnee.

Michigan State Spartans

Starting with coach Tom Izzo is Sparty a popular brand with gamblers.  Izzo loses his top two scorers from last season.  But Joshua Langford is back after an injury-plagued 2019-20.  Overall Langford is one of the most complete players in the Big Ten.

Villanova Wildcats

Namely coach Jay Wright is the 2021 March Madness betting brand within the brand at Villanova.  Squares will flock to Wright’s teams based on 2016 and 2018 national titles.  Additionally, the Wildcats are in the thick of contention each season.  Senior Collin Gillespie returns to command the backcourt.
