Middleweight fighters Alessio Di Chirico and Roman Kopylov step inside the octagon on a mission to win the fight for a chance to crack at more lucrative fights in the future. Di Chirico and Kopylov are coming off losses in their previous bouts so expect both fighters to come in the ring hungry for a win. The match is part of the UFC Fight Night 209 card that features Ciryl Gane and Tai Tuivasa in the main event. The Italian Di Chirico is coming off a one-round loss to Abdul Razak Al Hassan last year while Kopylov has lost both of his UFC fights after starting his fight career with an 8-0 win-loss mark. Online UFC betting picks the veteran Di Chirico to win over Kopylov due to his better offensive game and his capability to finish the fight early.

Alessio Di Chirico
Di Chirico (13-6) looks to bounce back from his one-round knockout loss to Abdul Razak Alhassan as he hopes to fight again in the UFC in the future. After starting his MMA career with nine straight wins, the 32-year-old had gone 4-6 since signing with the UFC. Di Chirico has lost four of his last five matches inside the octagon and he could not afford another loss as it would mean his UFC days are likely over. To secure the victory over Kopylov, Di Chirico needs to ramp up his offense, particularly in the striking game, where he has a substantial edge over his foe. He also has an advantage in takedowns, averaging 1.62 takedowns/15 minutes, so Kopylov will have his hands full against the Italian in this three-round encounter.
Roman Kopylov
Kopylov (8-2) has not won in the UFC since debuting in 2019. His last bout against Albert Duraev in October 2021 showed his lack of skill and heart to make it big on the world stage. Kopylov hopes to bounce back against Di Chirico to extend his UFC stint. The southpaw is also good at striking with a rate of 2.72 significant strikes per minute. Seven of Kopylov’s eight wins were stoppages so he is capable of winning via knockout. The Russian needs to do something special to beat Di Chirico and extend his stay in the UFC. He must fend off the Italian’s attacks to take home his first win on the worldwide scene.

Di Chirico vs. Kopylov Summary
MMA oddsmakers see this fight as an even-money bout due to their lackluster records inside the octagon but Di Chirico has a slight advantage in experience. However, we cannot discount Kopylov’s ability to knock out his foes in one strike. The match has the potential to become a tactical chess match or a Fight of the Night candidate as both fighters look to impress for a contract extension in the future.
