Sam Alvey has been competing in the UC since November 2014 and he has given us good fights to remember his colorful career. ‘Smile’n’ is just a shell of himself as the 35-year-old fighter has not won a UFC bout since September 2018. There are rumors that Alvey is set to retire soon and it won’t be a surprise if it happens after this match. Nonetheless, Alvey looks to unload whatever is left in his tank and give a good show before calling it quits. Brendan Allen is going to be stepping for Phil Hawes who had to pull out due to an injury. Allen agreed to the fight and went ‘All-In’ even on short notice. The 26-year-old fighter has been itching to get back inside the MMA cage after losing to Chris Curtis in a first-round knockout just this December in UFC on ESPN 31. That loss spoiled his chance to get into a winning streak after he beat Karl Roberson and Punahele Soriano. Allen would prefer to bring his opponents on the ground as nine of his 17 wins came from submissions but he also carries a good sting in his strikes.
