Marcin Tybura
Former M-1 heavyweight champion Tybura (22-7) has fought the likes of Stefan Struve, Ben Rothwell, Derrick Lewis, Andrei Arlovski, and Fabricio Werdum since his debut in April 2016. He lost his latest bout to Alexander Volkov. Before the setback, however, Tybura won five straight fights against quality opponents and received performance of the night bonuses on two consecutive occasions. The Polish fighter must show his aggressiveness early against Romanov to boost his chances of winning. He needs to be accurate in striking to intimidate and break the rhythm of his Moldovan rival.
Alexander Romanov
The Moldovan fighter has been a surprise package since he made his UFC debut in September 2020. He was able to submit three of his opponents and knocked out one. All in all, he has strung up 15 victories via the abbreviated route, and six of those wins were by knockout and nine via submissions. The MMA fighter known as “King Kong” has surged to number 13 in the UFC heavyweight rankings thanks to his all-around game. Romanov must use his skills to outclass Tybura and become more relevant in the heavyweight class. While this fight seems to be a step-up in Romanov’s UFC career, the match against the Polish fighter will test his readiness in the future.
