A clear difference was seen in the Jets and Flames regular seasons. Winnipeg was a top hockey betting pick to win the Western Conference. Calgary was considered a marginal bubble team for the postseason. Yet each team did not fit their scripts. The Jets underachieved until right before the break. Few teams exceeded expectations and metrics like the Flames. Because of this, their playoff matchup intrigued. Most handicappers rated Calgary vs. Winnipeg as the top preliminary round series. Those perceptions are starting to change after Calgary’s 6-2 win in game three. Now Winnipeg faces elimination.

Calgary Flames vs. Winnipeg Jets CashBet Wagering Analysis
On the whole, this has been one of the evenest sportsbook NHL matchups. Handicappers see no decided advantage on either side. Both Winnipeg and Calgary have been teams of current feel. Most of the wagering public is reacting to game results. It follows that live betting has seen strong handle in this series. That is expected to continue through the final period of the last game. Undertakers have been intrigued by most of this matchup. Such as there is the firepower that can send games over the total. No series offers a greater handicapping challenge.
“Mayday, Mayday” for Winnipeg Jets
Game four is a do or die betting on hockey scenario for the Jets. Winnipeg was engulfed by the Flames in an embarrassing 6-2 game three loss. As a result, the Jets trail 2-1 in this best of five series. Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has been subpar in the postseason. Hellebuyck has a 3.38 goals-against average and .894 save percentage. Ironically the Jets outshot the Flames 35-32 in game three.
Of major concern is the loss of center Mark Scheifele. He was injured badly in a controversial collision with Calgary’s Matt Tkachuk. Scheifele is questionable for game four. Consider his 29 goals and 44 assists in the regular season.
It is true that head coach Paul Maurice signed a large extension right before play stopped. Maurice did bring a level of coaching credibility to the Jets. Balanced against that has been Winnipeg’s disappointing inconsistency. Which has certainly manifested itself in this playoff.
Flames Spread Stanley Cup Hopes
At the onset of this NHL betting series were doubts about the Flames. Calgary’s record exceeded their metrics. But this playoff series has impressed even the toughest of critics.
In summary, this has been the ultimate team effort. Contributions are coming from multiple sources. Michael Backlund, Johnny Gaudreau and Elias Lindholm each have two goals. While Sean Monahan and Andrew Mangiapane lead with four points each. And then there is goaltender Cam Talbot. He has a tidy 2.02 goals-against average and .925 save percentage.
Coach Geoff Ward could soon have the interim tag removed. Commencing with the firing of Bill Peters last fall has Ward been a stabilizing force. He has shown strong leadership in his series.
Calgary Flames vs. Winnipeg Jets Head to Head with Spread
Late results have the Jets taking five of eight against the Flames. Nine of the last 11 in this series have gone under the total. Calgary has won nine of their last 13 as chalk. Just two of their last eight as a favorite went over. Winnipeg has lost 11 of their last 17 games as a dog. And five of their last seven as pups stayed under.
