Monday night could bring the end of the Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup Playoff run. To illuminate, Edmonton trails the best of seven series 3-0. Game four will be played at Rogers Center in Edmonton. NHL tradition dictates that a team will fight to the death on home ice to avoid elimination. Especially when facing the NHL betting humiliation of a series sweep. But all of the efforts in the world may not stop Avalanche. The Oilers knew it was a must-win game in Saturday’s game three. Edmonton played a tighter game defensively, but it wasn’t enough.

CashBet Odds Analysis – How the Public Sees This Series
At the beginning of this series, there was plenty of best sportsbook online interest in the Oilers. Edmonton won a lot of converts with its second-round series win over Calgary in dominant fashion. What impressed the hockey and gambling communities was how the Oilers out-worked and out-checked the Flames. Calgary was celebrated for being one of the top shutdown teams in the NHL. Instead, it was Edmonton that snuffed out the Flames.
Gamblers have seen the Oilers suffer a betting on NHL exposure in this series. Calgary lacked the firepower of the Avalanche. Edmonton doesn’t have enough to stop a much deeper Colorado attack. Accordingly, the Avalanche has far more weapons than the Flames brought to battle. And that is catching up to the Oilers. Now, gamblers are chasing their losses with a Colorado team that is becoming more expensive based on public demand.
A Game Three Advanced Lesson on Both Teams
Colorado defeated Edmonton 4-2 in game three on Saturday at Edmonton. At the beginning, Edmonton superstar Connor McDavid got an early goal to set the tone. Or so it was thought. But McDavid’s goal proved to be the high point of the pro hockey betting matchup.
On the whole, the Avs outshot the Oilers 43-29 and blocked 13 shots compared to seven by the Oilers. Valeri Nichushkin scored two goals for Colorado. Most important of all, goaltender Pavel Francouz was excellent in place of the injured Darcy Kuemper. Francouz stopped 27 out of 29 shots to get the win. Kuemper remains questionable for Monday’s game four. However, Francouz proved that Colorado could be just as effective with him between the pipes.
Edmonton was fighting for its playoff life on Saturday night in front of a desperate screaming crowd. There was a lot of late money on the Oilers that came in based on home ice and Colorado playing its backup goalie. Sharps gladly took the Avalanche at a discount price and were rewarded. Hence, it was another painful lesson about following the crowd to the masses. By contrast, for contrarian gamblers, it was a satisfying win.
Oilers vs. Avalanche By the Angles

In this situation, the Oilers might put up a fight in game four. However, the Oilers have to be discouraged, knowing the long NHL gambling odds they face. Edmonton faces a near-impossible task in having to beat Colorado in four consecutive games.
