Game two of the NBA Finals was a redemption of sorts for the Golden Warriors. Golden State led game one 92-80 after three quarters. But they lost the game 120-108. To be exact, it was the first time in NBA history that a team trailing by double-digits at the start of the 4th quarter won the game by double digits. Thus, it was an embarrassment for the Warriors on their home court. Game two saw Golden State beat the NBA Finals odds with a 107-88 win as 4.5-point home chalk. The NBA Finals are tied at 1-1.

Warriors Stake Their Claim in Game Two Rout
After a tight first half, the Warriors exploded for a 35-14 third-quarter advantage to win a blowout. Boston achieved what it set out to do. To illuminate, the Celtics earned a split at Golden State and won a home-court advantage. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 29 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Most important of all, the Warriors’ defense held the Celtics to 37.5% shooting from the field.
Golden State head coach Steve Kerr got a full 48-minute effort out of his club. In comparison, the Celtics were not nearly as sharp as they were for game one. Their goal was a split, and their goal was met. Winning game two against a fired-up Warriors team would have been a bonus.

Head coach Steve Kerr has been down this road before. He led Golden State to five consecutive appearances in the NBA Finals with three championships. Boston head coach Ime Udoka is a respected rookie. Second half of the season results were impressive for the Celtics. And that goes to Udoka’s management of the team.
