Previously the Brooklyn Nets tried to win based on an NBA betting formula of fantasy basketball. The Brooklyn lineup was comprised of superstar marquee men that were the dreams of all fantasy NBA players. But that was the problem. The Nets were never a team. Instead, they were a collection of scorers with their own agendas. And head coach Steve Nash was unprepared for the job. Brooklyn broke up the old formula and hired an experienced head coach. Jacque Vaughn has the Nets focused and playing strong defense. On Thursday night, the Nets face a struggling Phoenix team.

Nets vs. Suns CashBet Wagering Analysis
Cause by their respective records, the Nets will draw most of the best sportsbook online support. Phoenix has become a team that has annoyed gamblers with its unreliable value and decline from a championship contender. Two years ago, the Suns looked like a team of the future. Now they are a team with poor leadership and without its championship edge. On the other hand, Brooklyn is getting plenty of attention as a team on the come.
Nets Tighten Up Under Vaughn
The Brooklyn Nets are 27-14 straight up, 19-20-2 against the spread, and 17-24 over/under the total. Overall, Brooklyn has NBA rankings of 14th for scoring offense, 1st for field goal percentage, 2nd for 3-point field goal percentage, 6th for free throw percentage, and 29th for offensive rebounding. While defensively, Brooklyn has NBA rankings of 5th for scoring defense, 4th for field goal percentage permitted, 24th for 3-point field goal percentage allowed, and 13th for defensive rebounding.
Late on, Brooklyn has covered six of its previous ten games. Six of the Nets’ last seven games went under the betting on NBA total. Brooklyn trails the Boston Celtics in the Atlantic Division. Of major concern is that Kevin Durant is out until mid-February with a knee issue.
Kevin Durant led the Nets with 29.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game before his injury. Concurrently, Kyrie Irving leads the Nets among available players with 26.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per contest. Late on, Irving scored 19 or more points in five consecutive starts. Nic Claxton is adding 11.8 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.
It is true that former head coach Steve Nash was a name hire and made a splash. But there was plenty of criticism for his lack of experience. It was hard for Nash to handle all of his inherited supersized egos. And it proved to be too much for him in the end. Vaugh brings the coaching credibility that Nash lacked.
Playoff Window Setting on Suns
The Phoenix Suns are 21-22 straight up, 21-22 against the spread, and 19-24 over/under the total. Overall, Phoenix has NBA rankings of 17th for scoring offense, 21st for field goal percentage, 3rd for 3-point field goal percentage, 8th for free throw percentage, and 16th for offensive rebounding. While defensively, Phoenix has NBA rankings of 9th for scoring defense, 15th for field goal percentage permitted, 20th for 3-point field goal percentage allowed, and 8th for defensive rebounding.
Late on, Phoenix has covered only two of its previous eight games. Four of the Suns’ last five games stayed under the pro basketball betting total. Of great concern is that Devin Booker is out until late January with a groin issue. Meanwhile, Deandre Ayton has been battling ankle problems.
The loss of Devin Booker leaves a huge void in the Phoenix lineup. To show, Booker was leading the Suns with 27.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game.
Namely, Deandre Ayton leads Phoenix with 17.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per contest. But Ayton scored 15 points or less in four of his most recent five games.
