Nets Drop in Esteem With Gamblers in Future Market

2022-23 NBA Futures Brooklyn Nets

It would be wise to forget whatever you previously thought about the Brooklyn Nets.  Brooklyn has been entirely remade.  And when healthy, the Nets boast among the most potent offensive lineups in the game.  However, Kevin Durant is out with trade previous injury issues.  Another factor that doesn’t favor the Nets is their perpetual lack of commitment to defense.  Additionally, fired head coach Steve Nash failed to earn a full buy-in for that aspect of the game.  Also, Kyrie Irving is gone.  Thus, the Nets may fall short of NBA betting glory.

Brooklyn Nets CashBet Wagering Analysis

Brooklyn was once one of the most popular teams on the best sportsbook online board.  Following years of red ink, gamblers are beginning to abandon the Nets.  Also, Kyrie Irving got his wish for a trade.  Hence, he has been held out of recent games.  The Irving situation has put Brooklyn’s season on the brink.

The Brooklyn Nets are 32-20 straight up, 25-25-2 against the spread, and 23-28 over/under the betting on NBA total.  Overall, Brooklyn has NBA rankings of 17th for scoring offense, 2nd for field goal percentage, 2nd for 3-point field goal percentage, 12th for free throw percentage, and 29th for offensive rebounding.  While defensively, Brooklyn has NBA rankings of 9th for scoring defense, 4th for field goal percentage permitted, 28th for 3-point field goal percentage allowed, and 22nd for defensive rebounding.

Late on, Brooklyn covered six of its previous eight pro basketball betting matchups.  Five of the Nets’ last six games went over the total.  Brooklyn is 4th in the Eastern Conference standings.  They are 4.5 games behind the first-place Boston Celtics.

Namely, Kevin Durant led the Nets with 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.  Durant is a two-time NBA Finals Most Valuable Player and was the 2014 NBA Most Valuable Player.  He is an 11-time All-Star.  Durant was the second player taken in the 2007 NBA Draft out of Texas.  He won two NBA championships with the Golden State Warriors.  Certainly, Durant’s resume is everything an aspiring NBA gambling championship team could hope for.  Yet the Nets gave up and traded him in an act of surrender.

At the onset of his hiring, Nash faced criticism for not paying his dues as an NBA assistant or college coach.  Also, there were even charges of white privilege thrown at Nash.  Most important of all, Nash never got a commitment from the Nets players.

At the beginning, this franchise was born as the New Jersey Americans in 1967.  Subsequently, they became the New York Nets the following year.  The only league championships that the Nets have in their history were from the old ABA in 1974 and 1976,  “Dr. J.” Julius Irving was the team star.

Once upon a time, few NBA teams were hotter items on the futures market than the Brooklyn Nets.  When Brooklyn was healthy, they resembled the best fantasy basketball team money could buy.  But that was the problem.  The Nets were hardly ever healthy.  Namely, James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving were three superstars rarely on the court together.

Since that hyped team flopped, all three have had various injury problems that have kept them off the hardwood.  Sometimes, long periods.  And it was injury issues that prevented those Nets from advancing in the NBA Playoffs.

Despite their challenges with fielding their starting lineup, the Nets remained the betting favorite to win the 2022 NBA Finals.  This is a clear act of the public betting on the come.  Based on the perpetual injury problems of the Nets, it proved to be quite a reach.  In fact, the previous two NBA Playoffs showed how injuries could affect the championship chase.  Most top teams were knocked out because their best players couldn’t answer the call.  And that injury trend has continued through the first half of the regular season.
