Wisconsin fell to 4-3 under Leonhard, who was promoted from defensive coordinator after the firing of Paul Chryst.  In turn, Leonhard was passed over for Luke Fickell as the new permanent head coach.  Wisconsin had come back from a 13-6 deficit to take a 16-13 lead late in the third quarter.  But UW couldn’t rally a second time. 

Cowboys Shoot Blanks at the End

Last game, the Oklahoma State Cowboys lost 24-19 against the West Virginia Mountaineers as 5-point home favorites.  The game went under the bet on NCAAF

Namely, Jaylen Anderson ran for 155 yards and two touchdowns, and West Virginia defeated Oklahoma State.  Anderson, a redshirt freshman, had rushed for 120 yards all season before the game.  But he broke loose for touchdown runs of 54 and 57 yards during three minutes in the third quarter.  In turn, that gave the Mountaineers momentum.

Oklahoma State freshman Ollie Gordon ran for a season-best 136 yards and a touchdown.  To illuminate, Garret Rangel started at quarterback for the Cowboys in place of Spencer Sanders.  Sanders was dealing with injuries throughout the season.  Late on, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said it was hard to know when Sanders would be available.  Sanders has entered the transfer portal.

In sum, Rangel passed for just 178 yards and was sacked four times.  Yet the Cowboys still had a chance to win late.  Oklahoma State took over, trailing 24-19 with 1:29 remaining.  But Rangel threw four straight incomplete passes.  Oklahoma State led 10-7 at halftime as the teams produced just 301 combined yards.
