Washington vs. Texas Alamo Bowl Best Bets, Odds and Predictions

On the whole, the Texas Longhorns gave gamblers an NCAAF bets wild ride in 2022.  Second-year coach Steve Sarkisian is making systematic progress.  And his most important game was the close one that Texas lost.  The Longhorns nearly upset the Alabama Crimson Tide in September.  Quarterback Quinn Ewers was a 5-star recruit enticed to come to Texas for a Lamborghini and sacks of NIL cash.  But Ewers was a tease with an off-and-on season.   Another 5-star recruit, Arch Manning, will arrive on campus next season to compete with Ewers.

Alamo Bowl CashBet Overview

Indeed, Arch Manning likely holds the keys to the future of Sarkisian.  Previously, former coach Tom Herman was emotionally erratic.  But he won Sportsbook Odds games quicker and at a better rate than Sark.  And the Texas donor base is not known for patience.

Huskies Howl With Pride in Rebirth of Program

Last game, the Washington Huskies beat the Washington State Cougars 51-33 as 2.5-point road favorites.  The game went over the Betting on College Football total of 59.5.  Washington has a record of 10-2 straight up, 7-5 against the spread, and 8-3-1 over/under the total.  Washington ranks 2nd for total offense, 1st for passing, 72nd for rushing, and 4th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 57th overall, 90th against the pass, 33rd against the rush, and 63rd for points allowed.  Also, Washington ranks 4th for fewest turnovers lost and 104th for takeaways.

Namely, Michael Penix Jr. threw for 485 yards and had five total touchdowns as Washington reclaimed the Apple Cup.  The Huskies finished with 703 yards of offense against a good Washington State defense.  To illustrate, Wazzu led the Pac-12 in scoring defense at under 20 points per game.  If not for two second-half turnovers by the Huskies, the margin of victory could have been larger.

Overall, Penix was 25 of 43 passing.  Additionally, he nearly topped 500 yards for the second time this season.  Penix threw for 242 yards as part of a wild first half.  In turn, there were 55 combined points, seven lead changes, and 630 total yards.  Penix threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more in the first half.  One TD was a 30-yard run on what turned out to be a double lateral.  Penix connected with Ja’Lynn Polk on a 26-yard TD.  And then a 47-yard TD to Odunze on a double move.

In sum, Robinson carried 29 times.  Including 22 in the second half when he gained 150 yards.  Additionally, Texas ran on 22 straight plays after Baylor returned a fumble for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
