Texas Longhorns vs. Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Information

In 1969 President Richard Nixon flew aboard Air Force One into Fayetteville, Arkansas.  He was to witness what was instantly labeled the “Game of the Century.”  Specifically, Texas and Arkansas met on December 6, 1969, for the Southwest Conference championship.  Texas rallied from a 14-0 deficit to win the College football betting game 15-14.  Thus, the Longhorns won the league title.  However, the president decided to one-up that achievement by proclaiming the Longhorns as national champions.  Fans of Texas and Arkansas have pined for more games against each other based on such history.

Despite the fact that Arkansas got itself together against Rice, Texas remains the solid online sportsbook favorite.  Cause by the vastly higher-rated recruits on the Longhorn roster.

Texas Hooks the Cashier’s Cage in Opener

Texas paid 38-18 over Louisiana as 8.5-point home favorites in their betting on college football opener.  The game stayed under the total of 58.  The victory made for a successful debut of new Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian.  Sarkisian has had a checkered career before arriving in Austin last January.  As he takes the Texas job, he is a much more mature leader.  Cause by serving as Nick Saban’s offensive coordinator at Alabama.

Louisiana entered Austin thinking upset.  But Texas was up for the challenge. Bijan Robinson finished with 103 rushing yards, 73 receiving yards, and two touchdowns.   And then quarterback Hudson Card began his college career as a starter by converting his first passing and rushing touchdowns.

Hogs Pig Out After Early Hunger in Week One

Last week Arkansas got the cash in a 38-17 home win over Rice as 19.5-point favorites.  Over the bet on NCAAF total of 50.5 saw the payout window too.  Shockingly, the Razorbacks trailed at halftime against a Rice team that hasn’t beaten a power-conference opponent since 2013.  Thus, the first full-capacity game at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in two seasons was agitated.  Subsequently, Arkansas woke up and scored on five of its last six possessions of the game.

In his second career start, Quarterback AJ Jefferson was just 4 of 11 for 21 yards passing in the first half as the Razorbacks trailed, 10-7.  But he ultimately finished 12 of 21 for 128 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He added another 89 yards on the ground on nine carries. Accordingly, the halftime break seemed to calm Morris, who seemed to shake free some opening day jitters.

Pittman stated his belief that the Hogs will play much better on Saturday.  Pittman believes that first game butterflies were a big part of the Rice game.   Jefferson was making his second career start, and the team played in front of its largest crowd in two seasons.  Arkansas looked like an SEC team in the second half after a poor first. More will be required against Texas next week.
