In 1969 President Richard Nixon flew aboard Air Force One into Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was to witness what was instantly labeled the “Game of the Century.” Specifically, Texas and Arkansas met on December 6, 1969, for the Southwest Conference championship. Texas rallied from a 14-0 deficit to win the College football betting game 15-14. Thus, the Longhorns won the league title. However, the president decided to one-up that achievement by proclaiming the Longhorns as national champions. Fans of Texas and Arkansas have pined for more games against each other based on such history.
