Oklahoma Hosts Baylor in a Big 12 Betting Shootout and CashBet Odds

Oklahoma vs. Baylor in a Big 12 Betting Shootout and CashBet Odds

Baylor hasn’t been able to maintain the same NCAAF bets consistency that led them to the 2021 Big 12 Conference championship.  Bears coach Dave Aranda still gets high marks from the media.  But he is not quite as hot of a brand on the coaching carousel as he was after a 3-0 start.  Last week the Bears wrecked Texas Tech and have regained good gambling graces.  However, Saturday brings a special opportunity against the name brand Oklahoma Sooners.  OU may be down a notch in 2022, but it still draws handle from the masses.

Baylor vs. Oklahoma CashBet Wagering Analysis

At the onset, Baylor will get its share of sharp support as the quality road dog.  Another factor that Bitcoin Sportsbook Wise Guys like is the lack of Oklahoma dominance.  OU will command a higher price than deserved.  Squares won’t care and will line up to stampede the betting window on the blue blood home chalk.  It is true that OU has regained momentum after a terrible stretch.  This will feed into the natural square support that OU consistently draws.

Bears Emerge from Hibernation with Wins

Last game, the Baylor Bears won 45-17 against the Texas Tech Red Raiders as 1-point road dogs.  The game went over the Betting on College Football total of 61.  Baylor has a record of 5-3 straight up, 5-3 against the spread, and 6-2 over/under the total.  Baylor ranks 27th for total offense, 51st for passing, 24th for rushing, and 15th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 32nd overall, 59th against the pass, 24th against the rush, and 50th for points allowed.  Also, Baylor ranks 99th for fewest turnovers lost and 49th for takeaways.

Freshman Richard Reese ran for 148 yards and three touchdowns.  While AJ McCarty returned an interception for a score.  And Baylor stampeded to victory over Texas Tech.  Second among NCAA freshmen in yards rushing, Reese had 53 of the 75 yards on a drive to his tiebreaking 1-yard TD.  That occurred in the second quarter as Baylor dominated time of possession.

Correlate Baylor ended a 10-game losing streak in Lubbock.  At the same time, they handed Texas Tech its first home loss under coach Joey McGuire.  Previously, McGuire was a Baylor assistant for the past five seasons.

With a 21-point lead down to seven, Reese had a 16-yard run on third-and-3 to spark the TD drive.  And then it ended with his 1-yard score.  Just one of Reese’s first nine TDs was on the road coming in.  Accordingly, Reese was coming off a 186-yard outing with two TDs at home against Kansas.

Oklahoma Recovers From 3-Game Losing Streak

Last game, the Oklahoma Sooners won 27-13 against the Iowa State Cyclones as 1-point road favorites.  The game went under the bet on NCAAF total of 58.  Oklahoma has a record of 5-3 straight up, 3-5 against the spread, and 3-5 over/under the total.  Oklahoma ranks 29th for total offense, 68th for passing, 16th for rushing, and 40th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 114th overall, 90th against the pass, 115th against the rush, and 87th for points allowed.  Also, Oklahoma ranks 74th for fewest turnovers lost and 30th for takeaways.

Eric Gray rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown.  In like manner, the Oklahoma defense posted three interceptions.   A pick by linebacker Danny Stutsman came with 5:24 left in the fourth quarter.  And it set up a 2-yard scoring run by Gray to seal the game for Oklahoma.

Oklahoma used a little creativity, scoring a touchdown on a fake field goal.  But the Sooner’s next four drives netted an average of 20 yards.  Meanwhile, Iowa State averaged 1.6 yards on its first 18 rushing attempts.
