Kansas State vs. Alabama Sugar Bowl Betting, CashBet Odds and Predictions

And there is no bigger brand on the board than the Alabama Crimson Tide.  Coach Nick Saban campaigned hard for the Crimson Tide.  Specifically, he cited the likelihood that Alabama would be favored against almost any opponent.  But his pleas were ignored.  Alabama had their chance in the regular season and was too sloppy.  The Kansas State Wildcats are often overlooked as a quality NCAAF bets program.  But that is a major mistake of gamblers.  At least the casual ones that are enamored with the name brands.  Kansas State won the Big 12 championship and is a quality opponent.

K-State Wins Thrilling and Improbable Big 12 Title

Last game, the Kansas State Wildcats won 31-28 against the TCU Horned Frogs as 1-point favorites.  The game went under the Betting on College Football total of 60.5.  Kansas State has a record of 10-3 straight up, 9-3-1 against the spread, and 6-7 over/under the total.  Kansas State ranks 43rd for total offense, 93rd for passing, 17th for rushing, and 33rd for scoring.  Defensively they rank 54th overall, 56th against the pass, 67th against the rush, and 17th for points allowed.  Also, KSU ranks 39th for fewest turnovers lost and 6th for takeaways.

Namely, Deuce Vaughn ran for 130 yards and a touchdown.  At the same time, Will Howard threw two TDs for the Wildcats.  Consider that six weeks earlier, K-State jumped out to a 28-10 lead early in the second quarter at TCU.  However, the Horned Frogs scored the game’s last 28 points.

At the beginning of the season, Max Duggan lost his job as TCU’s starting quarterback.  He ended up as a Heisman Trophy finalist.  In sum, Duggan threw for 251 yards and a touchdown.  Also, he ran for 110 yards with an 8-yard score with 1:51 remaining in regulation.

Correlate that Vaughn’s 44-yard touchdown made it 28-17.  Following Julius Brent’s interception of a pass by Duggan in the end zone on the first play of the fourth quarter.  However, TCU scored the last 11 points of regulation.  Including Griffin Kell’s 42-yard field goal with 7 1/2 minutes left.

In overtime, TCU RB Kendre Miller was stuffed for the second play in a row on fourth down.  And then Ty Zentner kicked a 31-yard field goal as the Wildcats beat TCU 31-28.

Tide Fails to Roll to Playoffs

Last game, the Alabama Crimson Tide won 49-27 against the Auburn Tigers as 21.5-point home favorites.  The game went over the bet on NCAAF total of 51.  Alabama has a record of 10-2 straight up, 6-6 against the spread, and 5-7 over/under the total.  Alabama ranks 15th for total offense, 24th for passing, 30th for rushing, and 5th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 15th overall, 16th against the pass, 30th against the rush, and 11th for points allowed.  Also, Alabama ranks 87th for fewest turnovers lost and 124th for takeaways.

Bryce Young, a junior, completed 20 of 30 passes with an interception and ran for 48 yards.  The 2021 Heisman Trophy winner passed for 343 yards and three touchdowns.  Additionally, he ran for another score in perhaps his final home game for Alabama.  Alabama reached double digits in wins for the 15th consecutive season.  But they fell short of those ever-present national title aspirations.

On this occasion, Kansas State will have plenty of Betting on NCAAF motivation.  Alabama has several roster questions and the bad taste of a lost season.
