Gators Host Tigers on College Football Week 6 Betting

Missouri vs. Florida CashBet Wagering Analysis

Certainly, Missouri suffered one of the most gut-wrenching and cruel losses imaginable two weeks ago.  Missouri had the Auburn Tigers beaten on their home field.  Yet the Tigers failed to apply the dagger.  Mizzou did what seemed unlikely in a sure-win situation.  MU gave away a sure NCAAF bets win with a blown chip shot field goal followed later by a dropped ball just shy of a touchdown. Last week the Tigers had to shake it off with a home game against the defending national champion Georgia Bulldogs. Mizzou showed a character that few thought they possessed.

Missouri vs. Florida CashBet Wagering Analysis

Mizzou is not an appealing top online sportsbook brand.  Fans and gamblers forget that Mizzou won the SEC East Division in 2013 and 2014.  But things have never been the same since the player’s strike seven years ago.

Meanwhile, the Florida Gators are still a strong brand with the betting public.  Despite being in the midst of a rebuild under new head coach Billy Napier. Casual gamblers prefer Florida in this matchup as the perceived power home chalk.  Nobody has much faith in Mizzou, even at an enhanced price. Last week the Florida Gators had far greater problems than football.  They had to reschedule their game against Eastern Washington because of a powerful hurricane.

Mizzou Continues Near Misses

Last game, the Missouri Tigers lost 26-22 against the Georgia Bulldogs as 31-point home dogs.  The game went under the total of 54.5.  Mizzou has a record of 2-3 straight up, 3-2 against the spread, and 1-4 over/under the total.  Mizzou ranks 92nd for total offense, 102nd for passing, 57th for rushing, and 89th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 40th overall, 57th against the pass, 46th against the rush, and 66th for points allowed.  Also, Mizzou ranks 68th for fewest turnovers lost and 69th for takeaways.

Despite a strong Betting on College Football effort, the Tigers lost another close one they could have won.

The Bulldogs got their run game going just in time to avoid the upset.  Kendall Milton finished off one long drive with a touchdown.  Late on, Daijun Edwards got into the end zone with just over four minutes to go.  Edwards’ TD proved to be the game-winner.  The Bulldogs trailed almost the entire Quarterback Stetson Bennett also struggled all night against the blitzing Missouri defense.  Still, the national championship QB wound up with 312 yards passing and no interceptions.

Meanwhile, Brady Cook had 192 yards passing and a touchdown for the Tigers.  But MU stalled when trying to reach the end zone against one of the country’s best defenses.  Hence, Harrison Mevis kicked five field goals.

Previously, Georgia riled up the Tigers long before kickoff.  To illuminate, several Bulldogs walked through Mizzou’s pregame drills.  In fact, Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter and Missouri’s Darius Robinson had to be separated.

The Tigers carried their anger and fire throughout the game.  Their rebuilt defense behind coordinator Blake Baker forced an early fumble.  Georgia was forced to punt nearly all of the game.  And Missouri capitalized on the good field position.  Mevis made the first of his field goals to put the Bulldogs in danger of their first loss in 2022.  Georgia spent the night playing catch-up.

Florida Overcomes Hurricane Ian and Eastern Washington

Last game, the Florida Gators won 52-17 against the Eastern Washington Eagles as 32-point favorites.  The game went under the bet on NCAAF total of 71.5.  Florida has a record of 2-2 straight up, 2-2 against the spread, and 3-1 over/under the total.  Florida ranks 64th for total offense, 87th for passing, 30th for rushing, and 86th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 115th overall, 63rd against the pass, 125th against the rush, and 91st for points allowed.  Also, Florida ranks 49th for fewest turnovers lost and 76th for takeaways.

Of course, the Gators Florida did as expected against an FCS opponent.  At the same time, the Gators were resilient against the stress and distractions of Hurricane Ian.
