Baylor Bears vs. Texas Longhorns Betting Preview Updated Odds and Analysis (October 24)

Baylor Bears vs. Texas Longhorns NCAA Football betting odds and picks

When Texas hired Tom Herman, it was universally acclaimed as a perfect match.  Herman was touted as one of the bright young masterminds in College football betting.  And then making the Big 12 championship game in his second season added to the hype.  As did a Sugar Bowl win over Georgia in his third season.  But last year’s 8-5 record was a buzz kill.  Following was a 2-2 start to 2020.  Now Herman is on the hot seat.  Further complicating matters is Herman’s lack of program control.  Donors see his players distracted by social justice causes.

Bears Come Out of COVID Hibernation Break

Texas Hooked by Herman

Texas has had two weeks to cope with their four-overtime 53-45 loss to the Oklahoma Sooners.  Specifically, they were 3-point dogs in that Red River Shootout.  Also, did the game go over the total of 74.5.  Texas is now 2-2 straight up, 1-3 against the spread with 4-0 over the total.  Nationally the Longhorns offense ranks first for scoring.  Counter to that is a defense 64th for points allowed.

It has been a frustrating senior season for quarterback Sam Ehlinger.  It follows that he is literally trying to carry Texas on his own shoulders.  Against Oklahoma, Ehlinger passed for 287 yards and two touchdowns.  And Ehlinger rushed for 112 yards and four more TD’s.  Previously Ehlinger single-handedly led a miraculous comeback over Texas Tech.  Looking back, it was a warning sign about Texas.  Correspondingly the Longhorns are outed as pretenders to the throne.
