Alabama and Georgia Meet in 2021 SEC Championship Game

Georgia Bulldogs vs. Alabama Crimson Tide CashBet Free Pick

In January of 2018, Georgia had Alabama beat in the National Championship Game.  Indeed, the Bulldogs were dominating all aspects of the game.  Alabama was a wounded Giant.  But the Crimson Tide was still a Giant.  In desperation, Bama coach Nick Saban benched starter Jalen Hurts for raw freshman Tua Tagovailoa.  And the rest is College football betting history.  To illuminate, Tua led Alabama to one of the greatest comebacks in college football history.  Alabama stole the natty in overtime.  Georgia has been pining to settle the score for the past four years.

Georgia Bulldogs vs. Alabama Crimson Tide CashBet Odds Analysis

Alabama is a prime sportsbook play as an underdog.  Sharps love few situations better than a superpower underdog.  Counter to that is plenty of casual support for undefeated and top-ranked Georgia.

Bulldogs have Nastiest Bite in the Land…So Far

Last week Georgia mauled Georgia Tech 45-0 as 35.5-point favorites.  The game went under the betting on college football total of 5t4.5.  As a result, Georgia is 12-0 straight up, 8-4 against the spread, and 5-7 over/under.  Overall, Georgia ranks 28th for total offense and 1st for scoring offense.  Defensively, the Bulldogs rank 1st overall and 1st for points allowed.

Stetson Bennett passed for 255 yards and four touchdowns.  Including two to tight end Brock Bowers to power Georgia.  It is the first undefeated regular season for the Bulldogs since 1982.  Back then, they capped a streak of three consecutive SEC championships with tailback Herschel Walker.  Now, Georgia can focus on its drive for SEC and national championships

Georgia, which began the day leading the nation with its averages of 7.5 points and 236 yards allowed, posted its third shutout. At the same time, giving up only 171 yards.

Bowers had a 77-yard touchdown catch.  And then Kenny McIntosh added a 59-yard scoring run. Bowers, a freshman, also scored on a 9-yard catch. In sum, he has ten touchdown receptions, a school record for tight ends.

Relying on its top-ranked defense and Bennett’s accurate passing, Georgia was dominant.  Specifically, it was its fourth consecutive win in the state rivalry. The Bulldogs gave up only 67 yards in the first half.

Lower Tide Than Normal for Alabama

Last week Alabama escaped Auburn 24-22 in overtime as 20.5-road favorites.  The Crimson Tide and Tigers game went under the bet on NCAAF total of 57.5.  As a result, Alabama is 11-1 straight up, 6-6 against the spread, and 6-6 over/under.  Overall, Alabama ranks 7th for total offense and 5th for scoring offense.  Defensively, the Crimson Tide ranks 7th overall and 20th for points allowed.

In the fourth overtime, John Metchie caught a scoring pass from Bryce Young to give No. 3 Alabama a 24-22 comeback victory.  Accordingly, it was the first overtime in the Iron Bowl.  Freshman Kool-Aid McKinstry tipped away T.J. Finley’s pass in the final OT, and Young hit Metchie just as he did in the previous one.

Most important of all, Young capped a 97-yard drive with a 28-yard touchdown to freshman Ja’Corey Brooks.  There were just 24 seconds left in regulation.
