2021 Notre Dame Fighting Irish CashBet Wagering Analysis

Since Kelly decided to spend less time fundraising, the online sportsbook results have been tremendous.  Notre Dame’s fanbase is large and generational.  This trait means premium prices as one of the most popular teams on the CFB board.

The Resurgence of Kelly’s Heroes

Brian Kelly has posted four consecutive double-digit win seasons.  There have been two college football playoff appearances in the past three years.  Due to the pandemic, Notre Dame played the 2020 campaign in the ACC and made it to the championship game.  But Clemson slapped them down hard for the title and a reality check.  Now for 2021, the Fighting Irish return to their independent tradition.  Notre Dame is a Betting on college football playoff favorite but without quarterback Ian Book.

Notre Dame Set to Reload or Rebuild?

Brian Kelly must find a new starting quarterback for the 2021 campaign. Following three highly successful campaigns with Ian Book.  New defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman arrives from a special Cincinnati program.  UC is one of the elite powers in the Group of Five.  Freeman replaces Clarke Lea, who went home coach of his alma mater, Vanderbilt.  In sum, Book and Lea were integral contributors to the recent success of the Irish.  They won’t be easy to replace.

Wisconsin graduate transfer Jack Coan, who led the Badgers to the Big Ten West Division title and a Rose Bowl berth in 2019, is the probable starting quarterback.  Coan is no Ian Book, but he is a proven bet on NCAAF winner and hard worker.  Most important of all, offensive coordinator Tommy Rees will not ask Coan to carry the team.  Rees developed a strong ground attack that balanced out the offense in 2020.

Additionally, Freeman fielded some of the toughest and nastiest defenses in the country at Cincinnati.  Linebacker Drew White will be tasked with leading the unit and easing the transition.

2021 Notre Dame Schedule Highlights

First, Notre Dame faces an immediate potential trap on September 5 at the Florida State Seminoles.  This matchup will be a Sunday night ABC primetime showcase to open the season.  Florida State has been aggressive at using the transfer portal to address its shortcomings.

Namely, Jack Coan will be going up against his old team, the Wisconsin Badgers, on September 25 at Soldier Field in Chicago.  Wisconsin is favored to win the Big Ten West.  UW plays a physical brand of football that the Fighting Irish can appreciate.

A traditional college football rivalry renews on October 23 when the Fighting Irish faces the USC Trojans.  Late on, USC is getting good reviews for its most recent recruiting classes.  Such success is indicative of a program that could be on the rise.

And then the talented North Carolina Tar Heels visit Notre Dame Stadium on October 30.  UNC is considered to be the top Betting on NCAAF threat to Clemson in the ACC for 2021.

The season finale at the Stanford Cardinal is another classic rivalry game.  Although Stanford has taken a step back the past two years, head coach David Shaw has vowed to return to the brains and brawn style that made them so successful in the past.
