Colts Hosts Steelers on ESPN Monday Night Football Week 12 Betting

Steelers vs. Colts CashBet Wagering Analysis

Overall, the Pittsburgh Steelers are going through a humbling betting on the NFL season of transition.  Pittsburgh is suffering through the growing pains of rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett.  But the Steelers’ problems go far deeper than a mere change of quarterbacks.  Of great concern is that the Pittsburgh defense has struggled to cover for one of the terrible offenses.  Thus, Pittsburgh’s days as a perennial playoff contender are over.  Previously this month, the Indianapolis Colts fired head coach Frank Reich.  In like manner to Pittsburgh, the Colts are not a serious playoff contender.

Steelers vs. Colts CashBet Wagering Analysis

The Steelers have one of the largest top online sportsbook fan bases in the NFL.  Pittsburgh is one of the most popular brands on the board in any sport.  Offsetting that is the terrible performance of the Steelers this year.  The same holds of the Colts, who were once the best bet of the AFC South.

Rusty Steel in Lost Pittsburgh Season

Last game, the Pittsburgh Steelers lost 37-30 against the Cincinnati Bengals as 3.5-point home dogs.  The game went over the Betting on football total of 39.5.  Pittsburgh has a record of 3-7 straight up, 4-5-1 against the spread, and 4-6 over/under the total.  Pittsburgh ranks 27th for total offense, 23rd for passing, 22nd for rushing, and 28th for scoring.  Defensively they rank 28th overall, 32nd against the pass, 7th against the rush, and 26th for points allowed.  Also, Pittsburgh ranks 24th for turnovers lost and 10th for takeaways.

Following an upset home loss to the Steelers in Week 1, in which he was hammered relentlessly, Joe Burrow got revenge.  Burrow went 24 of 39 for 355 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions.  At the same time, Samaje Perine hauled in flips from Burrow into touchdowns of 29, 11, and 6 yards.

In comparison, Rookie Kenny Pickett passed for 265 yards with a touchdown for Pittsburgh.  And then Najee Harris ran for 90 yards and two scores.  Overall, the Steelers managed just 52 total yards on their first six drives of the second half.  And they turned a pair of short fields into only three points.  That was all the space Burrow needed to likely end any slim outside chance Pittsburgh had for the playoffs.

Colts Corralled From 2022 Playoffs

Last game, the Indianapolis Colts lost 17-16 against the Philadelphia Eagles as 6.5-point home dogs.  The game went under the NFL bets total of 45.5.  Indianapolis has a record of 4-6-1 straight up, 5-6 against the spread, and 2-9 over/under the total.  Indianapolis ranks 24th for total offense, 16th for passing, 26th for rushing, and 31st for scoring.  Defensively they rank 5th overall, 7th against the pass, 12th against the rush, and 11th for points allowed.  Also, Indianapolis ranks 32nd for turnovers lost and 24th for takeaways.

Indianapolis never trailed until Jalen Hurts’ final run as interim coach Jeff Saturday fell to 1-1.  But while the Colts held Philadelphia to its lowest point total since last November 28, they struggled to contain Hurts.  Late on, the Eagles lined up with less than 90 seconds to play and four receivers spread across the field.  Subsequently, Hurts read the defense and sprinted straight to the end zone before Indy’s defense could react.

In sum, Matt Ryan was 23 of 32 with 213 yards and passed Hall of Famer Dan Marino for No. 6 on the NFL’s career list for passing attempts.  Also, Jonathan Taylor carried 22 times for 84 yards and scored for the second straight week.  Michael Pittman Jr. caught six passes for 75 yards.  In comparison, Parris Campbell had five receptions for 67 yards.
