Since their 2000 national championship, Oklahoma has been one of the most consistent powers in college football. OU has finished inside the top ten of the national rankings 15 times in the past 20 years. Equally important, the Sooners have successfully transitioned from head coach Bob Stoops to Lincoln Riley. Stoops hired Riley as his offensive coordinator with the vision that Riley would be his successor. Riley took the reins in 2017 and has never had a final College football betting national ranking lower than 7th. Accordingly, Riley parlayed that success with powerhouse recruiting.

2021 Oklahoma Sooners Team Overview
Namely, Lincoln Riley is one of the most brilliant offensive minds in all of football. Each off-season, college, and NFL coaches make the trip to Norman to pick his brain. Riley has often been mentioned as an NFL head coaching candidate. But he loves the college life of Norman, Oklahoma. Further, Riley knows he can dominate the top-heavy Big 12 Conference. At Oklahoma, he leads a blue-blood power program always in the conversation for the national championship.
In his first three Bitcoin sportsbook seasons, Riley put his quarterbacks on the final stage of the Heisman Trophy award ceremony. Two of them (Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray) won the award. Oklahoma has four college football playoff appearances with three under Riley. However, the problem was that once the Sooners made the CFP, they lacked the defense to finish. But OU’s defensive woes are methodically going away.
Thus, Riley and the Sooners are again the betting on college football favorite to win the Big 12 championship. So too, OU is chalk to make the college football playoff.
Quarterback Spencer Rattler best exemplifies Riley’s coaching prowess. Last year as a freshman, Rattler developed quickly under Riley’s watch. There is no doubt that Rattler will be far better and more consistent in 2021. Which is a sobering thought for Oklahoma’s opponents. It follows that Riley is an ace recruiter. And that Rattler will be surrounded by top-shelf talent.
Defensive coordinator Alex Grinch may prove to be the final piece of the national championship puzzle for Oklahoma. Although the unit still blows leads, they don’t do so nearly as often. On the whole, the days of Oklahoma’s defense being a bet on NCAAF liability are over.
2021 Oklahoma Sooners Schedule Highlights
First for Oklahoma is a rare opening game on the road on September 4 at the Tulane Green Wave. Tulane is a solid American Athletic Conference program but nowhere near OU’s class.
On September 18, an old friend will come calling as a nod to the past. Once upon a time, Nebraska and Oklahoma boasted one of the great rivalries in college football history. But these days, the Husker program is a mere shell of its former self.
October 2 brings a potentially dangerous game at the Kansas State Wildcats. Consider that K-State beat Oklahoma in each of the past two seasons.
October 9 is the famed Red River Shootout at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas against the Texas Longhorns. Steve Sarkisian is the new Texas head coach and will be looking to get a leg up on Riley and the Sooners. In turn, both programs have blown up the sport’s landscape with their plot to join the SEC.
November 20 features a visit from the Iowa State Cyclones. ISU lost to OU in the 2020 Big 12 championship game. But the Cyclones did defeat the Sooners at home in the regular season. Iowa State is expected to field the best team in program history for 2021.
The regular-season finale at the Oklahoma State Cowboys on November 27 won’t be easy either. Certainly, Oklahoma State is a tough out for any Big 12 team, except for the Sooners. Oklahoma has a Betting on NCAAF stranglehold on this series known as Bedlam.
